i sigh and call maddie's mom and she answers happily "hello kalani, how are you?"

"good..how's maddie?"

she sighs "todays been a rough..very rough day for her.."

"why?"

"it's...it's her sisters birthday"

i hang up and as i was going to leave jax was trying to string his shoes

i groan and take the shoe and string it

"why don't you ever ask me to do stuff?"

"i used too..but you would always yell at me..hit me..so i stopped.."

i sigh

"i'm different now"

"maddie made you different?"

i nod

"good..please keep her around"

i chuckle and kiss his head before i leave

Maddie's pov

i lay in my bed

in a daze

high on oxy

with cut wrist and no cares in the world

my moms been trying to get in for hours but i pushed the bookcase infront of the door

i hear grunting and then a thump as kalani groans and stands

"you made me climb 3 stories to your god d- maddie your arm!"

i don't move

i don't react

i just lay

it's mackenzie's birthday

but as that isn't enough..my dad texted me..he said..xander told him he saw me..and that he missed me so much

kalani gently picks me up and wraps my arms

i get up and go to my bathroom and slam the door

she sighs "maddie please talk to me!"

i inhale and don't move as she comes and picks the lock

"yano...that isn't fair! talk to me! please.."

"you have two brothers, biological brothers..who you should love and cherish and yet you left them all alone to get high"

"maddie i-"

"you have loving parents that you still treat like shit"

"you have a genuine loving family...i wanted that kalani...i neeeded that...i needed my mom..i needed her to be my mom..i needed my sister here kalani i needed her here!"

i open my mouth and she sighs "i won't allow...my family to get hurt...it's small..and broken..but still good kalani it's still good..i love my sister and brother too much to put with of them in danger..xander...he likes little girls. he would hurt kaylin..and i'm not strong enough to stop him. so why try huh? why not go to them first"

i grab her and kiss her deeply not allowing her to pull away until she's somewhat calm and sobbing into my shirt
