this chapter makes me want to 🤮 bc it's so bad also sorry for not updating I was at my cousins house
It's now lunchtime and we are sitting at our usual table with Leo, "I'm so sorry, I swear he's sorry too." Leo apologizes for the fifth time.
Jack sighs, rubbing his eyes tiredly, "We know, we really aren't going to hold a grudge." Leo furrows his brows, "So you guys still want to be friends?"
"Duh, you're a cool dude," Alea says, grinning from next to him. Leo grins, looking down shyly. A phone rings and we all look toward him, none of us have one so it has to be his.
Leo brings his shiny iPhone before tapping on random buttons, "My- Do- My dad feels bad for what happened. He invited you guys over for dinner. But only if you want to." He rambles, moving his hands as he talks.
Mak raises an eyebrow, smirking, "Dinner? Were in." I bite my lip and weigh out the options in my head. If we do go, we get a meal in our stomachs, but also if we go there is a risk of Robby getting mad that we were home late. But if we don't go then we are stuck at home with nothing to do and an empty stomach.
"Are you sure?" Quinn asks, glancing over at Jack who has his mouth twisted to the side. "Yeah, my dad feels bad for what happened last night. He said he wants to meet my new friends." Leo says, nodding.
"Just- we can't hang around for too long," I decide, we can just sneak up the fire escape.
Leo grins and starts typing into his phone, I check the clock on the wall behind him. We have ten more minutes until lunch ends.
I see Ares reach down to his back pocket, "I'm gonna go get some fresh air." He mumbles, already walking towards the exit doors before any of us can protest.
Alea looks at him sadly. I'm worried about him, he doesn't really talk about feelings and shit. I mean I don't either, but it's unhealthy for us to bottle it up.
The lunch bell rings, I guess ten minutes go by fast. Quinn and Alea leave first, they have art together, Leo and Mak leave I don't know what class they have together. It's just me and Jack left, we have English next.
Jack starts to walk and I follow him. "You sure about the Leo thing?" He asks, keeping his eyes on the window.
I swallow, and nod, "Yeah, it's not like they check out room anyway. Plus, dinner could never hurt." I reason.
We make it to the English classroom and I walk in first, "I'm fucking starving." He comments as we take a seat in the back of the class.
The English teacher closes the door once everyone is in their seats, she doesn't say anything, just passes out a worksheet and sits back down by her desk.
Out of the corner of my eye, I see Jack clench his pencil as his eyes skim over the words, making me frown. "Don't worry dude, I got it," I say, sliding his paper next to mine.
