Ryuen Pov:
The end of the exam has finally come. My usual group, consisting of Ayanokoji, Albert, Ibuki, and Shiina, were all in the library as usual. I wouldn't typically be inside the library, but since Shiinna "insisted" on waiting for the results there, I went with the flow.
She was reading a book called "Strive in Shadows," a mystery novel about a detective named Klay. He was known as the best of the best at his job, the cream of the crop. No one was better than him in anything. He had a way of thinking that made even me, who usually dislikes reading, invested in the story.
Klay believed in curing the idiocy of all people. From a young age, the one thing Klay Lockheart could not stand was idiots, something I could agree with. I hate people who are simple-minded; however, I find them useful as effective, disposable tools.
Back to the main point, Klay, at the age of just 4 years old, solved a case that professionals were struggling to figure out. The case was a locked-room mystery inside a well-known hospital. It was not just any regular hospital, but one where the richest people in the world would take services from. The assassination case was of the president of the country at the time.
In those five minutes the doctor was absent, someone managed to sneak in and assassinate the president, leaving no evidence behind and locking the door. There were no fingerprints inside the room other than the president himself and his bodyguard, who was knocked out on the ground.
The suspects were the doctor and the bodyguard, respectively. While some say the plot could have been the work of someone else, the results and how Klay solved this case were compelling.
"Figure it out yourself. Read the rest; that's where I will stop for now," Shiina said suddenly, wearing a smug smile.
"Are you really going to just end it randomly like that? We were invested, you know?" Ayanokoji stated, showing disappointment.
"There's no reason for you to be 'invested,' Ayanokoji. You already read this book. I am trying to get them to read more. Look at Ryuen; that was the most he listened to a book in his entire lifetime, I bet," she continued, now bluntly insulting me.
"Obviously, the only thing Ryuen knows how to do is laugh like a mental housing home patient and bully people who are weaker than him." This slander needs to stop.
"Oi, cut it out. There's a limit to how much you can tarnish my name. Stop stalling and just say the exam results; that's the only reason you would stop in the first place." Hopefully, the results I wanted to see would be there.
"Alright fine, here are the results as followed for the exam placements."
