Usually he was up before the sun rose.

But today, Yoriichi decided to give his body a break from the harsh regimen he'd developed for himself and his students at his dojo.

A few more hours of sleep weren't going to hurt...

Thump thump.

His bedroom door opened softly, and small, bare feet patted the wooden floor. Oh... It must be one of the twins... Yoriichi pretended to be asleep, waiting for whoever was there to make a decision on their next course of action.

He felt a warm breath against his eyelashes, then a light blow. Yoriichi stayed passive. Undoubtedly, one of the twins was in a good mood today. A finger pressed against his cheek, and then poked him on the nose gently. Yoriichi waited until the small hand started patting him on the head, when...

"WAAAAHH!!"

"Eeeeee!!!"

Yoriichi grabbed an unsuspecting Muichirō and pulled him onto the bed, play fighting and tussling with his nephew. He let Muichirō win in the end. The boy wrapped his hands around his Uncle's neck and hugged him.

"Uncle Yoriichi! I'm so glad you're here! I missed you a lot!"

Yoriichi cuddled him back. "I missed you too, Muichirō. How've you and your brother been?"

"Good! How about you?"

"I've been working hard at my dojo, Muichirō. As much as I love what I do, I'm glad to be taking a break."

Muichirō smiled brightly. "Uncle, Yuichirō and I want to go out with you. To the park maybe, or to the aquarium."

"I'd love to take you two, if your parents let you," Yoriichi murmured, gently stroking the top of Muichirō's head.

"I'll ask! Okay?"

"I'd like that."

Muichirō bounced off the bed and ran to his parent's bedroom. On the way, he nearly ran into Yuichirō.

"Where are you rushing to?!" Yuichirō spouted.

"Uncle told me he could take us to the park, or the aquarium or someplace fun! I was going to ask Mama and Dad."

Yuichirō's eyes sparkled. "You asked Uncle Yoriichi? He's awake?" Muichirō nodded. "Yes, I did."

Yuichirō took off running in the direction of the guest bedroom, and Muichirō ran to his parents' room.

He banged the door open and jumped on the bed, shaking his Mother awake.

"Mama, Mama! Dad!"

His Father mumbled something about children and mornings.

"Yes Muichirō?" his Mother answered groggily.

"Can Uncle take us out today? Someplace fun, like the park or the aquarium, or something."

"Yes, yes. Can you tell me what time it is on the clock?"

Muichirō glanced over at the clock. "Six-twenty."

"Oh. Go back to bed then. Your Daddy is tired and he'd like to sleep. Right Honey?"

"Yes." Father mumbled.

Muichirō jumped off the bed and went back to the guest room. Yuichirō had made his way inside as well, and was snuggled in Yoriichi's lap. "Uncle! Mama said yes!"

"That's great."

Muichirō climbed onto the bed and snuggled up next to his brother. "Uncle Yoriichi, are your students doing well?"
