In the heart of the modern, yet culturally rich Kingdom of Haneul, Princess Ahn Yujin walked through the grand hallways of the palace with the air of someone who had never been denied a single wish. As the youngest daughter of the royal family, she was revered and adored, but she was also known for her spoiled demeanor, her arrogance, and her bratty antics. The palace staff often whispered about her latest demands and the way she would snub her suitors, each one failing to match her high expectations.

Meanwhile, in the neighboring Kingdom of Geoncheon, Crown Prince Lee Y/n stood on a balcony overlooking the sprawling gardens of his family's estate. The eldest son and heir to the throne, he was known for his strict yet fair attitude. His kindness was reserved, but those who knew him well understood the depth of his compassion. He was a master strategist, a respected soldier, and his name carried weight across all the kingdoms that knew of Geoncheon's might.

The two young royals' destinies were entwined when their parents, seeking to strengthen the ties between Haneul and Geoncheon, arranged their marriage. The news was met with mixed emotions; Yujin felt as if her freedom had been snatched away, while Y/n saw it as another strategic alliance, albeit one that required a personal sacrifice.

Their first meeting was anything but harmonious. In the opulent drawing room of Haneul's palace, Yujin's temper flared.

"I am not some pawn to be traded for political gains!" she exclaimed, her eyes shooting daggers at Y/n.

"And I did not come here to be insulted," Y/n retorted, his voice even, betraying none of the annoyance he felt at being matched with such a petulant princess. "This is about our kingdoms, not personal whims."

"Fine," Yujin huffed, turning on her heel. "But remember this, Lee Y/n, you do not own me."

As the days passed, their interactions were cold and formal. Yujin would often find ways to skip the etiquette lessons and diplomatic dinners, much to Y/n's chagrin. But their relationship took an unexpected turn one evening when Yujin was leaving a local café. She had just rejected the advances of a persistent suitor, unaware that he had begun to follow her with a sense of entitlement and indignation.

It was then that Y/n, who was being driven back to his parents' palace, noticed the scene unfolding. Without a second thought, he instructed his chauffeur to stop the car.

"Yujin," he called out, stepping out of the vehicle and moving swiftly towards her.

Startled, she turned around to see Y/n approaching, and then she noticed the suitor lurking behind her. Y/n positioned himself protectively in front of Yujin.

"I believe the princess made herself quite clear," Y/n said firmly, his eyes locking with the suitor's. "She is not interested."

The suitor, recognizing the crown prince, backed away, muttering under his breath before disappearing into the night.

"Thank you," Yujin said, her voice softer than Y/n had ever heard it. "I didn't realize..."

"It's my duty to protect allies of Geoncheon," Y/n replied, though his eyes betrayed a hint of concern that went beyond mere duty. "Are you alright?"

Yujin nodded, feeling a warmth in her chest that was unfamiliar. "Yes, thanks to you."

The ride back to the palace was quiet, but the air between them had shifted. Yujin found herself stealing glances at Y/n, whose profile was illuminated by the passing street lights. She saw him not as the strict prince, but as a man who had come to her aid without hesitation.
