Music pounded through the walls of Club Eclipse, a popular nightlife spot nestled in the heart of Hongdae, Seoul. The line stretched around the block, full of fashionable, energetic patrons eager to lose themselves in the electric pulse of the evening.
Inside, neon lights flashed against the polished floors, and a DJ perched atop a sleek platform orchestrated a whirlwind of beats that swept across the dancefloor. The bass was a living force—throbbing, vibrant, and impossible to ignore. Most nights, Lee Y/n would have preferred a small bar with live music. But tonight was different. Tonight, his friends had dragged him out for an epic Saturday night adventure.
Y/n (shouting over the music): "I'll grab drinks for us, okay?"
His friend Kijoon nodded, mouthing "I'll hold our table." Y/n pushed his way through a sea of dancing bodies, offering polite "Excuse me" here and there. Near the center of the club, strobes flickered over the dancers. The smell of sweat, perfume, and faint cologne hung in the air.
Just as Y/n reached the bar, someone bumped into him—softly but unexpectedly. He turned, about to apologize, when his breath caught in his throat. Standing before him was a woman in a sleek black dress, shoulder-length dark hair framing a stunning face. There was a grace in her posture, and an aura that sparkled under the neon lights.
Woman (quickly, eyes wide): "I'm so sorry!"
Her voice was musical, with a gentle warmth that clashed against the pounding bass.Y/n (stammering): "No—don't worry, I wasn't watching where I was going."
He noticed her eyes—a deep, rich brown that seemed to reflect the club lights. It felt as though the flashing strobes and swirling colors slowed down for a single moment.
Woman (with a small smile): "It's chaos in here, right?"
Y/n (nodding, returning the smile): "Yeah, but... it's a good kind of chaos."
She laughed softly. "I suppose it is."
Y/n: "I'm Y/n. My friends call me... well, just Y/n, actually." He chuckled nervously at his own awkwardness.
Woman: "Cho Miyeon." She extended a hand shyly, but the area was too crowded for a formal handshake. Instead, Y/n lightly touched her arm in greeting. A jolt of excitement ran through him at the contact.
Suddenly, a surge of dancers pushed behind them, forcing Y/n and Miyeon closer. Their eyes met again—this time with a mix of embarrassment and intrigue.
Miyeon (nearly laughing at the awkwardness): "I was just heading to get a drink. But I can't tell where the bar begins or ends."
Y/n (leaning closer so she can hear): "It's this way. Let's see if we can squeeze through together."
Miyeon nodded, following Y/n's lead as they made slow progress toward the bar. They exchanged small talk—shouting questions and answers over the music. Y/n caught bits about how Miyeon had come with a couple of friends from her workplace, how she wasn't a huge clubber but loved dancing. Y/n admitted it was his first time at this particular place, explaining his friend Kijoon's determination to get him out of his comfort zone.
At last, they reached the bar, and Y/n waved down the bartender.
Y/n (smiling at Miyeon): "What would you like?"
She glanced at the menu above the bar. "I'll have a mojito, if that's okay. I'll pay you back."
Y/n: "Don't worry about it. My treat."
