It was a bright afternoon in Seoul's Hangang Park, where thousands of excited festival-goers converged for Seoul Soundwave 2025—a three-day music festival that drew in crowds from all over the country and even some from abroad. Giant stages rose like futuristic sculptures at various corners of the park, each dedicated to a different genre. Food trucks with quirky neon signs lined the pathways, offering sizzling street food and icy drinks. Vibrant art installations popped up in between, inviting people to snap pictures and share them online.
Standing at the North Entrance, Han Y/n clutched his three-day festival pass, scanning the scene with a flutter of anticipation in his chest. He had been waiting months for this: three days of non-stop music and the carefree energy only a festival could bring.
Y/n was trying to push his way through a dense crowd at the Main Stage, eager to catch the opening act—a well-known indie-rock band from Busan. People bumped into him from all sides, everyone jostling for a closer look. The bass from the sound check thumped in the air, resonating in his bones.
Suddenly, as he sidestepped to avoid a guy carrying a giant inflatable flamingo, Y/n collided with someone. The impact sent a mild jolt through his body, and he instinctively reached out to steady them both.
Y/n (apologetically):
"Sorry! Are you okay?"He found himself staring into the warm, surprised eyes of a young woman. She had wavy, dark-brown hair and wore a casual band tee with high-waisted shorts. There was a bright, effervescent quality about her. Her cheeks were flushed—possibly from the heat, or from the collision.
Woman (regaining balance):
"I'm fine! Thank you. Sorry, the crowd is wild out here."Her accent had a slight lilt, and Y/n couldn't help but notice how her smile lit up her whole face. Even in a sea of festival-goers, she stood out somehow.
Y/n (smiling sheepishly):
"Yeah, it's crazy. I'm Y/n, by the way."She returned a quick, friendly grin. "I'm Nicha Yontararak—but most people call me Minnie. Nice to meet you, Y/n."
Y/n:
"Minnie... that's a cute name."Before she could reply, the band on stage suddenly launched into their opening song—a burst of music that sent the crowd surging forward. Y/n felt a wave of bodies push from behind, and in the chaos, Minnie was swept away.
Minnie (shouting over the noise):
"I—sorry—going—ah!"Y/n tried to follow, shouting her name. "Minnie? Minnie!" But the crowd around him churned like a restless sea, cutting off his path. He caught one more glimpse of her short silhouette being carried away by festival mania. Then she was gone.
His heart sank. He hadn't even managed to ask for her contact information. Already, he felt that spark—the kind that suggests you've just met someone extraordinary. But just as quickly as she appeared, she disappeared.
For the next hour, Y/n bobbed through the crowd, eyes peeled for Minnie's distinct wavy hair and band tee. No luck. The indie-rock set ended, and the throng dissipated into smaller pockets. He scanned the faces, wandered near the food trucks, and even asked a few people if they'd seen a girl with Minnie's description.
Y/n (to random festival-goer):
"Hey, excuse me—have you seen girl, this tall *motioned tto his chin*, brown wavy hair, wearing a black band tee that says 'Call Me Electric' on it?"
