The man didn't respond, paralyzed with fear. Mo-tak pulled his fist back before punching through the window, leaving a clean hole. The man climbed into the backseat, trying to escape through one of the doors. Ha-na was there, leaning forward to glare at him. He went out the other side, Mun throwing a punch that sent him unconscious into the backseat.
"Yah, Mun, don't punch like that," Yang quickly scolded, pulling Mun's fist back. "Don't tuck your thumb into your fist, unless you're trying to break it." Mun looked at him and quickly nodded, hesitating before bringing his hand back to his body.
The other thugs were running away and Yang turned to watch them. He saw the girls watching through the window of the house and decided to walk over to talk to them.
"Try not to worry too much," Yang told them. "Wait inside with your sister." The two of them pulled away from the window with contagious smiles. He tried to rid himself of his smile, looking back over, seeing Ha-na reading the thug that Mun had knocked out's memories.
"He's so drugged up that his memories are all mixed up," Ha-na told Mo-tak. From what Yang had gathered, the guy was Chang-gyu and Mo-tak had recognized him as being the one that had stabbed him, which lead to him falling off a building and landed in the coma that lead to Mo-tak becoming a Counter. "It's hard to read them. However, I'm sure he's the one who stabbed you."
Mo-tak grabbed his head, looking away.
"Damn it," Mun sighed. Yang jumped, not realizing the younger was next to him. "Why though? Why did he try to kill him? Just why?"
"What else did you see?" Mo-tak asked. "A woman. A 22 year old female. Didn't he kill her?"
"Kim Yeong-nim?" Ha-na asked. Mo-tak nodded. She shook her head, breaking the eye contact. "That I didn't see."
He sighed, obviously trying to hold back from saying something. "Anything else? Did you see him meeting her or talking about her with someone, perhaps?"
"I can't really see much," Ha-na reminded him. "I'm not sure."
"Who is Kim Yeong-nim?" Mun asked, looking between the two adults before looking at Yang, who shrugged. Mo-tak pulled his shirt up, revealing a scar on his stomach. Mun's eyes widened, reaching out to presumably touch it, but Mo-tak quickly pulled his shirt back down.
"You said he's the bastard that stabbed me." Mo-tak's tone was full of anger. "You're sure, right?"
"That I'm sure," Ha-na confirmed, standing up. Mo-tak walked to the man, punching him in the face and he fell onto his side. Mo-tak grabbed him by the back of his jacket, walking into the alley yet again and dropping him against a wall, the other three following him.
"What should we do with him?" Mo-tak asked.
"Hand him over to the police," Mun replied. "We have all the evidence."
"What evidence?" Ha-na asked.
"Ahjussi is living proof of what happened," Mun elaborated. "And the memories you read are also evidence."
"The police must've been in on this," Mo-tak said, inspecting Chang-gyu's face. "He walks in and out of the police station as if he owns it, despite the wanted poster for him."
Mun let out a sound that was a mix of a gasp and a sigh. Yang shook his head.
"I fucking hate cops," Yang muttered. So far, the only cops he didn't hate were Mo-tak and Mun's parents.
"Gosh, how could the police do such a thing?" Mun asked. "That makes no sense."
"It does here," Mo-tak told him. "At least here in Jungjin."
