Right now we were in the bus that was going to take us to California. We were behind in the bus. Luke and I were in the last row that was next to the toilet. Percy and Grover were in front of us and Annabeth and Missy were in the opposite row of Percy and Grover. I was sitting next to the window. The sky is really pretty. It's an really nice shade of blue.

"You good?" I heard Luke ask. I looked at him he was already looking at me.

"Yeah just thinking." I said smiling at him.

"About me I hope." Luke joked with a smile on his face.

"What ever helps you sleep at night." I said and rolled my eyes. I was then pressed to the window with Luke's hand around my neck. Then he kissed me roughly.

"I better be on your mind now." He said as he pulled away with a smirk.

"Hey stop choking her! Jules you okay?" Percy said and Luke let go of my neck.

"Yeah yeah I'm fine." I said.

"Why were you choking her?" Grover asked as he turned around as well.

"Uh I don't really know." Luke said. Percy and Grover looked at each other and turned back around. Then I let out a quiet laugh looking at Luke. "Shut up."

"Make me." I said with a smirk. He kissed my lips sweetly. I kissed back. We were cut off by someone clearing their throat. I pulled away to look who it was. It was Annabeth.

"Okay, Lisa and I are gonna go get us some snacks." Annabeth said as she stood up and Missy followed her.

"I'll come with you." Percy said and went to stand up.

"No, you'll stay right there." Annabeth said.

"Why? It smells terrible back here." Percy said.

"I second that." I said putting my chin on my arms that I rested on top of Grover's seat.

"Monsters can't smell you through that, so that's where I want you two to be." Annabeth said and Missy nodded.

"I wanna vote. Who thinks that we should all go get to breathe fresh air and buy our own snacks?" Percy said rasing his hand. I slowly raised my as well.

"There's no voting." Annabeth said seriously and then smiled. "Chips and sodas okay for you guys?"

"I don't think you should just get to decide we don't vote." Percy said.

"I'm sorry to hear that." Annabeth said sarcastically. Jeez she's worse then I was when I was 12.

"Okay. I wanna vote on whether you get to decide we don't vote." Percy said.

"Percy shut up." Missy rolled her eyes.

"Grover, please, can you help your-" Annabeth started but Grover started clapping slowly. "Friend?" What the fuck is he doing?

"I really don't wanna be a tiebreaker. I have a better idea." Grover said and took a deep breath and then started dinging. "Oh, golly, the road's gettin' bumpy 'cause I got me some friends, Who just can't get along, Oh, dear! When the team's gettin' grumpy, The trick to gettin' through it is singin' this song..." I let out the laugh I've been keeping in. Luke looked at me and smiled shaking his head.

"Dude, what are you doing?" Percy asked confused.

"It's the consensus song. Verse two encourages us to say nice things about each other. You get a few rounds in and you'd be amazed at how disagreements just kind of... fade away."

"Chips and sodas okay for you guys?" Annabeth asked ignoring Grover.

"Whatever." Percy tolled his eyes.

"Yes, please." Grover said.

"Sure." Luke said.

"Shouldn't I go with you to like protect you and stuff?" I asked. Annabeth said nothing and they left.

"Our voting system's broken." Percy stated. I nodded agreeing.

"Monsters can't be avoided entirely. They're more common than you think. The trick is to spot them first before they spot you. It's true they are more likely to sense a more powerful demigod. A child of the Big Three, Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades, is at the most extreme risk. But it isn't your power, exactly, that draws them. It's more complicated than that. They smell fear. That's bees. What a monster senses kinda depends on the monster. Some are better at sensing your inadequacy. Some, your need for glory, your shame. It's important to remember that if you've ever gotta confront one... wherever your armor is weakest, that monster's probably coming right for it. Nothing will stop them, not even death." Grover explained. I saw Annabeth put on her cap and Missy just walking towards us with fear written all over her face.

"We gotta go. Right now!" She whispered yelled and looked back towards where Annabeth stood only seconds ago. Luke stood up and tried to find a way to open the window.

"What's wrong?" I asked confused.

"Guys, you need to open that window! Now!" Annabeth appeared.

"I don't think these windows are supposed to..." Grover said. I heard something. Shit!

"Down!" I said as I saw something flying towards the window. I felt Luke putting himself over me. I heard glass breaking. A fucking fury. It went to attack us. I stood up and manipulated it's blood to keep it in place.

"Everyone, leave your belongings and exit the front of the bus." I heard the bus driver say. I kept the Fury in place while Missy and boys went to the broken window to get out.

"Annabeth, let's go!" Percy yelled.

"Hey!" I heard Annabeth shout and then threw her dagger at the fury and it dissapeared. Everyone was out of the bus except me and Annabeth.

"We're done here. Let's go." Annabeth said and I nodded. I guarded Annabeth to get through the window and then took my bag and jumped after her.

"Let's go." Luke said and we all ran towards the woods. There's wood in New Jersey?
