I walked through the house. It felt so empty now. I'm so sorry Medusa. I stood in front of the door we came through. I heard footsteps. I didn't want to look who it was. I didn't have to. I knew it was Luke.
"Hey." Luke said as he came closer to me. I didn't say anything back. "Please don't do that." I looked at him with an dissapointed expression. "Listen I'm sorry. I really am. The thing is just I'm not really comfortable talking about it."
"And you think that people who've been raped are super comfortable talking about it?" I asked.
"No. That's not what I meant." I waited for him to continue. "I am not comfortable about talking about it and I understand that people who've been through it aren't comfortable either. But I think I'm old enough to take it more seriously. And I will from now on. And I'm sorry I was a pussy back there."
"You better stick to that. Cause I'll kick you ass if you won't." I said seriously. He nodded. Then he took my chin and lifted it so I meet his eye.
"I promise. I don't want to ever see you hurt like that. Ever again. I promise you nobody will hurt you ever again. I will end anybody who tries to hurt you." Luke said and pulled me in for a short kiss. It was sweet. I smiled a little and then we went back to the basement to see what were little assholes doing.
"Juliet! I'm so sorry. You were right. I shouldn't have called her a monster." Missy ran to me and hugged me. "Will you forgive me?" I looked at her.
"Of course I will." I hugged her back. "I'm sorry as well. I was just frustrated and tired and it's been a long day. But what you did was still wrong." I said looking up from Missy and to Percy, Grover and Annabeth. I let go of Missy and left my arms open for the three of them. Percy and Grover came immediately. I hugged them back. Annabeth just stayed back with her arms crossed. I let go of them as well and walked towards Annabeth. "I know you don't really like me but we'll have to be civil if we want to succee this quest." I reached our my hand out for her to shake. She took it. "Deal?"
"Deal." She agreed. I smiled at her. I looked back at others they were all smiling and walked towards us. We were in a circle once again. Annabeth then cleared her throat. "Now, can we talk about the bigger issue here?"
"What bigger issue?" Percy asked. As we all exchanged confused looks.
""You could have saved your mother."" Annabeth quoted Medusa. Oh I forgot about that. "That’s what she said to you, like you discussed it already.
"Yeah what was that about?" Missy asked crossing her arms.
"Is your mother still alive?" Annabeth asked Percy.
"She’s with Hades. But I appreciate your concern." Percy said sarcastically.
"Guys, just please stop." Grover said.
"Oh, I'm concerned. What are you actually doing on this quest? And why did I have to hear about this from Medusa?" And here we go again. Wait a second.
"Okay, while we’re at it, "You should have accepted my offer?" What’s that about do you think? And why did we have to hear it from Alecto?" I asked remembering.
"Okay, guys calm down." Luke said.
"Enough! The hat was a gift from her mother. It’s the only thing she’s ever possessed that connects them. That oughta matter to you. Okay, but how are we gonna make sure this thing is safe? I’m not up to that yet." Grover said looking at Percy. And then turned to Annabeth. "And you, really? His mom’s alive. Can you imagine how confusing that must be for him? Feeling like he may have to choose between the fate of the world and the fate of the only person who's ever cared about him?"
