From Unspoken Echoes

Donna, keenly observant as always, couldn't ignore the palpable tension between the Doctor and Aliciana. It was like watching a cosmic storm brew, with emotions swirling beneath the surface. She often found herself caught in the crossfire of their unspoken dynamics.

One day, after witnessing yet another awkward interaction, Donna decided it was time to address the elephant in the room. She cornered the Doctor in the TARDIS, her arms crossed and a stern expression on her face.

"Alright, spaceman, spill it. What's going on between you and Aliciana?" Donna demanded, her eyes narrowing in suspicion.

The Doctor, caught off guard, stammered, "Donna, there's nothing going on. We're just traveling companions."

Donna rolled her eyes. "Oh, save it. I've seen the way you look at her when you think no one's watching. It's like you've swallowed a lemon and can't decide if you love it or hate it."

The Doctor feigned innocence, but Donna wasn't buying it. "I've known you long enough, Doctor. You're in denial. You've got feelings for Aliciana, and it's written all over your two hearts."

He sighed, attempting to deflect. "Donna, I don't—"

"Save your Time Lord mumbo jumbo. I've been around the block with you, and I know when something's up," Donna interrupted, undeterred.

Donna continued, her voice softening, "Look, I've seen the way you react when she talks about Rose. It's like a dagger to your hearts. And you can't stand seeing her with someone else. So, what's the deal, Spaceman? Why don't you just admit it?"

The Doctor hesitated, a flicker of vulnerability crossing his eyes. "Donna, it's complicated. I can't risk—"

"Risk what? Your precious Time Lord ego taking a hit?" Donna interrupted, unimpressed. "Sometimes, you need to face the truth, Doctor. It might just set you free."

With that, Donna left the Doctor to ponder her words. As she exited the TARDIS, she couldn't help but hope that maybe, just maybe, the Doctor would come to terms with his feelings for Aliciana before it was too late. The ball was in his court, and the dance of hearts continued within the timeless corridors of the TARDIS.

Aliciana's wedding day had arrived, and the Doctor stood there in his sharp suit, trying to hide the anguish in his hearts behind a forced smile. He couldn't help but watch her from a distance, her happiness radiating as she prepared to marry someone else.

Doctor: (Faking a smile) "You look absolutely stunning, Aliciana. He's a lucky man."

Aliciana: (Blushing) "Thank you, Doctor. I can't believe it's finally here."

The Doctor's hearts ached as he continued, his voice trembling slightly.

Doctor: "Aliciana, I... I have a question for you."

Aliciana: (Curious) "What is it, Doctor?"

Doctor: (Nervously) "Well, you know, I've traveled the universe, seen countless wonders, and met so many people. But, what if the one I'm looking for is already taken?"

Aliciana furrowed her brow, puzzled by the Doctor's words.

Aliciana: "Taken? What do you mean, Doctor?"

Doctor: (His voice barely above a whisper) "What if the person I've been searching for, the one who's been by my side all this time, is the one I didn't realize I couldn't live without?"

Aliciana: (Taken aback) "Doctor..."

Doctor: (Hesitant) "But, if I told you I loved you, would you invite me then?"

Aliciana's eyes filled with a mixture of surprise and confusion. The Doctor's confession had caught her completely off guard, and she didn't know how to respond.

Aliciana: (Softly) "Doctor, I... I never knew..."

Doctor: (Tears in his eyes) "I know it's too late now, and you deserve all the happiness in the universe. But, I needed to tell you."

Aliciana: (Touched) "Doctor, I..."

Before she could finish her sentence, the ceremony began, and Aliciana was led down the aisle to her waiting groom. The Doctor watched as she walked away, his hearts heavy with the knowledge that he had missed his chance.

As Aliciana exchanged vows with her partner, the Doctor couldn't help but feel a profound sense of loss. He had finally admitted his love, but it was too late. And as he stood there, a solitary tear escaped his eye, unnoticed by all but the TARDIS, who understood the depth of his pain.

After the ceremony, as the guests congratulated the newlyweds, the Doctor found a moment alone with Aliciana.

Doctor: (Tight-lipped smile) "Funny, isn't it?"

Aliciana: (Curious) "What is, Doctor?"

Doctor: (Voice trembling) "How you're the one person I can't have, and yet you're the only person I'll ever need."

Aliciana: (Touched) "Doctor..."

Doctor: (Forcing a smile) "It's alright, Aliciana. I'm genuinely happy for you. Your happiness means everything to me."

Aliciana: (Hugging him) "You'll always be my best friend, Doctor. Thank you for being a part of my life."

As the celebration continued around them, the Doctor held Aliciana in a heartfelt embrace, concealing the pain in his hearts and cherishing the bittersweet moment.
