A/N
I've been making Ariadne's family tree from her mother's side of the family and ended up making a whole timeline consisting of her grandmother and mother's lives before Ariadne was born. And my only agenda was to find out when they were born and when they died. 🧐
I'm also in the process of making a character profile of Ariadne, which I hope will be done before the next update.
First Year
Chapter Twelve
DUE TO SOME CONFUSION ON THE TIMETABLE, flying lessons were postponed to Thursday on their second week of school. Ariadne was more than thrilled to attend this class, as she had never seen a broomstick before.
She was already on the ground with her fellow Slytherins and a couple of Gryffindors, including Hermione. There were twenty broomsticks lying in lines on the ground. Their teacher, Madam Hooch, had yet to arrive.
Other than that, Ariadne could feel someone burning holes in the back of her head, which made her turn around to see Hermione gesturing for her to step away from the crowd. Hoping that Hermione wouldn't say something bad about her, she reluctantly walked toward the girl, and of course it caught the other Slytherins attention.
When she neared the girl, Ariadne saw two figures hurrying to the crowds, along with other Gryffindors. The two boys stopped running, and Harry slightly pushed Ron to approach the two girls, which he surprisingly did after taking a deep breath.
Ariadne noticed that Ron didn't have the same unapproving expression but rather a guilty one. Before he said anything, he glanced between Harry and Hermione, who left to let them talk privately. But of course they were near enough to hear what they talked about, in case Ron messed things up again.
''I'm sorry, Ariadne.'' Ron said. ''I shouldn't have snapped at you back in Potions and let others know about your snake.''
Ariadne gave him a tight-lipped smile. ''I really thought that we were friends and I could trust you.'' Ron glanced down at the grounds. ''But I'm happy that you have come around.''
Ron's eyes met hers as she watched him with tenderness. ''I forgive you, Ron.'' He looked at her, surprised, and extended his hand. ''Friends?''
''Friends.'' Ariadne smiled and shook his hand.
''You really need to sort out your loyalties, Soleil.'' Draco demanded, now standing behind her. Ariadne figured that he would at least make a comment. ''Watch it, Malfoy. I'm not someone you can order around. I'll hex you the same way I hexed Crabbe and Goyle if you don't stop rambling about the same thing again and again.''
Malfoy looked at her with widened eyes and then scowled before he turned his back to her and joined Crabbe and Goyle.
''What did you do to Crabbe and Goyle?'' Harry spoke.
''I cast the Bat-Bogey Hex. It was hilarious.'' she smiled at her accomplishment.
''Brilliant.'' Harry praised. Ron leaned closer to Harry and whispered. ''We should be careful not to cross her at any time.''
The boys left the two girls to themselves. ''Hermione, what has gotten into Ron so that he apologized?''
''I'll tell you later, Madam Hooch is here. We can meet at the library later.''
