Shino Asada awoke that morning feeling frightened and frail as usual.
Another nightmare about 'that day' had tortured her all through the night... The bank robber.. that gun.. the fear.. the trauma.
Shino shook her head in an attempt to forget it. While she was frailer, and her hair was a more blackish brown color, she looked a lot like her GGO avatar, Sinon.
She wore glasses, but they weren't prescription glasses, as in reality, she bore 20/10 eyesight, making her eyesight twice as good as a normal person's. The glasses were made of a polyester that was bullet proof however, and kept her quite calm.
After her incredible fight though yesterday against Accelerator.. maybe.. just maybe, she was strong enough now? To not have to wear those glasses?
Shino walked over to a large dresser she had in her dorm.. and opened it..
Inside, was not a real gun.. but a prize replica she had obtained in a tournament known as The Bullet of Bullets. It was a ray gun.. a fictional gun... but, it was real enough.. even if it was nowhere near a type 54 Black Star.
She picked up the gun.. and immediately started shaking and crying.. she dropped the gun back in the drawer, slammed it shut, and ran into the restroom, throwing up into the toilet.
No.. it didn't appear she was strong enough yet..
In any case.. it she was almost late for her class.
Shino attended one of the larger high schools in Academy City that was mainly comprised of low level Espers. They didn't tend to get very far in the Daihaiseisai.. and plenty of the Level 5 espers tended to ignore trying to even endorse them..
Though of course, Shino heard that half the Level 5s didn't endorse any schools because the fame irritated them greatly, like Railgun, Mental Out, and a friend of hers she had met only a month ago.
Shino was a Level 2 currently. Her ability, Sight Seeker, allowed her to gain vision equal to that of a Peregrine Falcon. Which meant she could gain vision 8 times better then any human. Something that would be perfect for a real life Sniper... and yet.. here, in this world, when she wasn't Sinon, she couldn't even touch a fake ray gun.
"Hey Asada! You're late!"
Shino was currently standing in an alleyway near the subway she was supposed to take.. and here she was, being confronted by several girls from her class
The head girl grinned. "Hey there.. I think you forgot your role.. we've used up all our money and now we have none for the automated busses.. you know the drill.. hand over all your cash cards.."
"B-but.." said Shino. "The Automated Busses are free.. it's the subways that require cash cards.."
"Is that back talk I hear!?" said the girl as her friends laughed. "You wouldn't want me to.. I don't know.. shoot you.. would ya?"
The girl pulled a silver hand gun out of her bag. "You see.. my pops is part of Anti-Skill.. so.. I'm allowed certain privileges.."
Shino backed away.. sweating and shaking. "N-no..."
The girl grinned maliciously and pointed the gun at her.. "Boom boom... heheheheh.. oh relax.. it's probably not even loaded.. not that I'd know.. I didn't check.. now.. about your cash cards."
"Ehhhh? Who are you? Friends of Shino.. Keh! I doubt it.." somebody spat from farther down the alley way.
A scrawny looking boy, wearing a white jacket and black shirt, and sporting a high tech looking walking stick walked over. He had messy white hair, and red eyes... and his expression bore one of perpetual annoyance.
