(A/N: *crashes through window* GOODNESS HELLO- Oh wow, nice place you got here, love the colour palate! You don't mind if I just deliver this, do ya? I apologize for the late delivery, our apple services have been busy trying to build a new empire to live in- Why do you look so startled? Everything is fine here! ..By the way, you had insurance on that window, right? No? OH, WELL, WOULD YOU LOOK AT THE TIME, I'LL SEE YOU AT THE END OF THIS TRAINWRECK, GOOODBYYEEEE-)
(Warning: This chapter contains implications of death, and very brief implications of drinking alcohol and drugging/drugs. This chapter also gets a little intense. There's not exactly gore, however injuries and sickness are mentioned in detail that can be upsetting. Everyone's different, so please take care of yourself first and foremost! These parts happen near the middle in Natsuki's POV section of the chapter [Her section that's in the middle of the chapter!], so please look out for yourself and don't be afraid of skipping anything you need!
[In case you'd like to be warned ahead of time of the most intense moments, it begins after the line: "...and she can't hide the proud smirk on her face as she looks around to find where Damien is."]
Also this chapter is really long- XD (24 thousand words! IT JUST KEPT GROWING MAN-) Please remember to take breaks and drink water regularly!
If there are any other warnings or anything more specific I can add to this that you think should be addressed, please let me know! I had a bit of trouble coming up with warnings without perspective, and everyone's safety is top priority. With all of that out of the way, stay safe everyone and thanks for reading! -AJ)
The streets bustle and move around the seemingly out of place girl, undeterred and ready for another busy day.
There are so many people that reside in the city; so many that Natsuki has to believe they can't all be here because of the school. All from different backgrounds and classes and ages, some with robes like Mrs. Smith's, and others with school bags like hers. You would think the cold weather and the early morning time would discourage so many people from getting started with their day, but that only seems to encourage the hustle of early birds. Some need the time to meet with others, some use this time to get the transportation space they need (If the large floating boxes and small glass bottles that Natsuki needs to duck under is anything to go by,), and others probably just want to beat the crowd.
Not that they do, of course, given Natsuki is stuck in a large group of people waiting for a light to change. There are shimmering large wooden poles by the sides of buildings and shops that give street names that sort of help with directions, and Natsuki swears the letters rearrange themselves so that she can understand what's on them as if it's in another language beforehand. Although, she hardly has any space to think and assess where she is due to the rush of others, even with the help of her phone's map. And, you know, her height isn't really doing her any favours either..
The light seems to change as the people in front of her move forward, Natsuki recognizing familiar looking buses and cars waiting for them to cross stopped on the road. She glances up at the new street sign as she passes it, just catching the letters shifting. Apparently she's on Starlight Avenue? Weird name, especially since she can't see any starlights. ..Not that she can really see anything right now, including further directions that her phone's supposed to provide.
Geez, isn't technology supposed to be more advanced than this? Did the Headmistress give them all the worst phones possible or something?
Or is she seriously this lost?
