Chapter Thirty-One: (Almost) A forest Fire

The rest of the lunch period was spent talking to other people who wanted to help with the cafe, along with the food manager.

Other then Sasha and her gang, there was no one that we interviewed that I recognized fully. There were a few people who I think I saw in the halls at school a few times, along with other people who were just looking for a job, but that was about it.

The first class at the start of second period was visual arts, which was used to study plays, movie making, etc. Coincidentally, all eight of us shared this class.

It was likely because of how big the class was; it was even a split class for some students older than us. Sasha, Patrisha, and Megan, obviously also shared this class with, but so far haven't been too annoying to deal with.

We enter the classroom to the class, which is half full. We actually finished early, and was able to head to class on time for once.

I notice Ace isn't the class, but Natsuki is. She's seated at the back of the class in her usual seat, leaning back against her chair and staring up and the ceiling, smirking.

The three of us separate from the boys for a minute to go and talk to her. When we approach her, we can hear her talking to herself.  "I can't believe I did it again. Heh, wow."

"Hey Nat!" Sayori exclaims, getting the smaller's girl attention.

Natsuki glances over to us, still slightly grinning. "Oh, hey girls."

"What are you so happy about?" I ask curiously. "Did something happen during practice?"

When mentioning her first football practice, Natsuki sits up in chair, her small frown wavering. "Something happening at practice? Pfft- No way! What? You think I can't handle a simple football practice?"

Hmm.. She just seems kinda..

"Yeah, how did your first practice go?" Oliver asked, him and the two other joining us.

Natsuki once again blew off the question with a shrug. "Aw, you know, normal. Nothing weird happened at all-"

"Guys, you'll never believe what happened!"

Our attention is drawn on Ace who jogs into the classroom, joining us quickly. His golden eyes are portraying a frantic but awed look in them.

"What happened?" Jess reluctantly asks as no one else does it.

Natsuki glances at Ace. "Ace, are you sure you want to tell them?"

Is something going on with her?

"Why wouldn't I? What happened out there was sick!" He exclaims before look back at us. "We were doing the touch the football and run exercise, and out of nowhere one of the footballs just burst into flames!"

Adrien chuckled. "You're joking."

Ace shakes his head. "I'm not! Ask anyone on the team, they'll tell you! Especially Natsuki, the thing blew up right behind her!"

"Huh, that's weird.."

Tell me about it..

Natsuki laughed shortly. "Aha, well, uh, yeah. It happened."

"And when coach tried to put the fire out," Ace continues, "The fire kept spreading, almost like it was dodging the water. But he got it out."

Oliver widens his eyes in surprise. "No way, really?"

"Yeah, it was crazy! Coach was super upset, but we still had the second football to work with. But you'll never guess what happened."

"Did that football catch on fire too?" Sayori asks her question as a joke.
