Chapter Nineteen: Spirit

"..."

I.. I don't remember if I had another nightmare. Maybe it's because that voice stopped talking to me ever since before?

Or maybe this is all just mental exhaustion?

I don't exactly want to take up, as I'm warm in bed, but I know it can't last long.

Plus, I'm curious to know if they voice was just my imagination or I was actually talking to the spirit of Earth.

"Just your imagination?!?!"

"AHH!"

My calm and tired thoughts are interrupted by a loud female voice so close to me that it burns my ears and mind. I quickly sit up, feeling something wrap around me, shoving it off in surprise.

"Huh? Moni- Ow!" The thing falls on the floor with a loud thud, and I take a moment to calm down.

Okay.. Okay, I'm in the dorm, and it's morning, and—

"Did you seriously just think that my whole conversation with you was a dream? A figment of your imagination? Do you know how rude that is?!"

What..?

It's.. So it was real.. But, then what did I..?

Like a flashlight flicking on, I am reminded of last nights events. I glance down as I feel myself blushing at the thought of how close I was to Sayori.

Sayori..

"Sayori! I'm so sorry!" I quickly crawl over to the edge of the bed and peer onto the floor where a shaken and messy haired coral pink girl is sitting on the floor, wincing.

She glanced up from the ground, a soft smile on her face. "Good morning~ Ehehe,"

"I didn't mean too-"

"Hello? Excuse you, I may not have a body, but I'm real! And if I'm going to help you, then I'd like to be treated real too!"

Right.. I forgot about her. "Yes.. Sorry."

"Ehehe~ Don't worry about it!" Sayori giggles as she slowly stands up. "But owwie, you're strong.."

"Ahaha.. Sorry.." Okay.. Calm down. That's one way to wake up, that's for sure.

Slowly the two of us get ready for the day. The Earth Spirit made a compromise to not bother me unless it's urgent so I can continue on my everyday life.

After we finished getting ready, I gently placed the bag on my shoulder, sighing in relief. This was a rough start, but I'm sure today will be better.

I mean, it can't exactly get any worse from yesterday, can it?

"Uh.. Moni..?"

"Yes?" I glance over to Sayori who is fidgeting slightly while sitting on top of the bed.

"Can you tell me what happened now?" Sayori asks quietly, uncomfortable. "I-I mean you don't have to, and I'm sorry if we bothered you when you were sad, but it's just like.. I was worried and-"

"Yeah.. I should tell you." I smile, unable to hide the sudden happiness that came to me when thinking that Sayori was worried about me.

I wouldn't want to see her worried, but she worried about me.

Ah.. What am I thinking?

Sayori's eyes light up as she smiles warmly. "Thank you!"

"Hey! Anyone in here?"A sharp voice interrupts up from outside the room. I can only assume that it's Natsuki.
