Enid
"Alright, you're all set. Let me know if it keeps bothering you, I can give you something for the pain. You should be fine though." I say with a smile. I throw away the trash left over from the bandage and cleaning towel.
"Remember to change your bandage after you take a bath."
Hershel being the energetic and determined little kid that he is, was running along the path from Barrington House to the stables and fell and scraped up his knee pretty badly before he even got there. He came running in sobbing with blood running down his leg and I felt so bad. I tried my best to cheer him up and clean his scrape as gently as I can.
Thankfully, he's strong like his mother and a total chatterbox like his father was, so he easily forgot about his injury and was rambling about the book he's been reading lately.
He's completely entranced with the concept of magic and animals talking. He also loves the stories of hero's.
Even after the world ended and the dead rose, kids still love Narnia. A true classic.
"Thanks, Enid!" Hershel grins, hopping down from the medical bed and skips over to the door.
"You're very welcome. Feel free to stop by later for dinner, i'm making that stew you like. Bring the others with you." I offer. I love when everyone comes over for dinners. I miss Carl being home with me for them. He always loves them too, but at least he should be coming home soon.
It's not the same being by myself most of the day when he's usually always there with me. Especially now that i'm pregnant and things have changed.
I bring a hand to my stomach and hold my small bump. It's very small, barley noticeable, but it's there and god I love it. At least I still have a part of Carl while he's away.
I already love our baby more than anything.
"Okay, bye love you! See you tonight." He calls out with a wave before leaving, not even giving me the chance to say it back. I chuckle to myself.
"Is it an open invite?" I hear from the desk across the room. I'd almost completely forgotten she was there.
No is what I want to say.
Internally dreading my answer, I put on another smile.
"Yeah, you're more than welcome to come. Always room for more."
I continue rubbing my stomach, now in an anxious manor.
"Sure, if you have food to spare. Though, might be sparse between us all and you." She comments, packing up her things and putting them away before heading to the door.
I grit my teeth and try my best to ignore her comment, following her to the door.
Lovely.

"Okay, i'm gonna hurl-" I warn, covering my mouth and rushing to the kitchen sink.
The smell of the uncooked beef sitting on the counter to be added to the pot is overwhelming despite the distance between it and me.
Tara let's put a laugh and pays my back from besides me, taking a bite out of her carrot that she stole from the cutting board.
"Good, get it all out so we can get this soup started." She teases.
"It's stew." Jesus corrects her, earning a middle finger.
I'd usually laugh but it's too late for me. I empty out what was left in my stomach into the sink and clutch my stomach with one hand, pushing my hair out of my face with the other.
