Teryn's POV
Roxanne was in the middle of packing last minute stuff by the time I arrived at her — my, apartment. Catching sight of the reporter disappearing into her former bedroom, I followed after her.

Last minute boxes laid strewn across the floor and on my bed, the sound of dresser drawers opening and closing met my ear drums as I filled the doorway with my person while Roxanne bustled around the bedroom, so engrossed in boxing up her last minute things to notice my presence.

Leaning against the doorframe, I crossed my arms over my chest while watching the reporter for a couple of painful silent minutes before breaking the silence. "This is a mistake, Rox." Blue eyes meeting mine, Megamind's ex-girlfriend gave me a brief, distraught grimace as agreement instead of using words. Not that I could blame her. She was hurting as much as the blue alien I met this morning.

Not being able to take the sight, my voice broke. "Please, Roxanne!" I pleaded. "Please don't break Megamind's heart over a job promotion!"

Tears fell down Roxanne's face, her voice equally pained as mine. "You know why I can't."

"Megamind is angry, Rox." I argued. "He is angry and hurting!" I pleaded with the reporter. "Megamind feels like this is just an excuse to not be with him anymore!"

Glaring back at Roxanne when she threw a glare my way, her tone was blunt. "Megamind knows why I'm leaving."

Not backing down, I snapped back. "I just spent the whole day with Megamind — and it took everything I could think of to help him begin healing so he wouldn't slip into depression!"

"What do you want me to do, Teryn?!" Roxanne snapped back at me.

Tears simultaneously fell down our faces! Yelling wasn't going to get us anywhere. My voice suddenly became soft when I gave a blunt, gut-wrenching, sorrow-filled truth! Pleading! "Be honest with Megamind, Rox. He deserves that much!" I thought for a second. "Or just tell Megamind you have re considered the idea of leaving because he means more than a stupid job position!

Megamind is angry and hurt! He had a hard time returning the engagement ring this morning! He loves you, Roxanne! Megamind loves you and he needs you more than the stupid reporter company!

Please be honest with Megamind, Rox! He deserves that much so he can heal!"

"I would give everything to stay, Teryn." Tears fell down Roxanne's face. "But if I do, I will just be in the way of things."

"In the way of what, Rox?! Megamind already thinks you're using this job as an excuse not to be with him."

"Did he tell you that?" Roxanne was inquisitive. I shook my head. "He didn't have to. The way his face grew angry and his voice bitter was evidence enough while he told me why you're leaving. You may have told Megamind why you're leaving, but are you sure he heard you?" My voice was quizzical. I confirmed my suspicions. "I'm not so sure he did.

Roxanne hung her head while she sank down onto my bed. I moved to sit by her. "When I was talking with Megamind during breakfast, I could feel his pain vibrating off his person. His anger and hurt grew stronger while he told me how happy you made him...while you told him about the woman who is supposed to take your place...he told me everything."

My eyes glued to Roxanne's! "Most of all, Megamind wants you to come back home...back to him.

"And so do I."

"Megamind has you now." Roxanne pointed out.

"Megamind needs more than just my help." I argued back. "He needs the woman he's madly in love with."

Roxanne felt her soul and heart shatter! Tears fell down her face. She reiterated her previous words. "I would give everything to stay, Teryn. But if I do, I will just be in the way of things."

'Two can play this game.' I thought. I iterated my earlier question before tacking on another question and a statement. "You will be in the way of what, Rox? What is so important for you to leave the man who so badly wants to spend the rest of his life with you? Tell me that."

Roxanne turned her eyes on me and looked me dead in the eye when she answered my question with a blunt answer. "Megamind's forever woman is already here in Metro City." My eyebrows rose to my hairline and my jets were doused from the news. Slightly parting, my lips opened so my tongue could begin asking questions and protesting! But Roxanne's eyes pointedly stared at me, and my fire was doused completely. Why was she giving me a pointed look? "Who exactly is this supposed future woman supposedly meant for Megamind?"

Roxanne just kept giving me a pointed look. "And why do you keep looking at me like that?" The question just barely left my mouth when a lightbulb went off in my head. "No. Please tell me no, Roxanne?"

"I'm sorry, Teryn."

"No. No. No. No. No. And NO."

"Teryn-,"

"Don't 'Teryn' me!"

"I'm dragging you back to the Metro City Hall so you and Megamind can fix this and get back together. You two are made for each other."

Roxanne grabbed hold of my shoulders and pushed my butt back down on the bed and held my green eyes with her blue ones. I peered up at the reporter with a frown. "Megamind and I aren't getting back together, Teryn. You're his forever woman."
