Avery's POV

"Here ya go," I say tossing the drumstick to Sara.

"Wait, what," she paused as she caught it. "THANK YOU!"

I laugh at my best friend's reaction and we begin our route back to my house. We pull into my driveway and before getting out of the car Sara smirks at me.

"What now?" I ask her.

"Nicholas was-" I cut her off.

"Nope. Uh uh. Not discussing this. I'm too tired let's go to bed," she laughs before we head up to my place and fall asleep immediately as soon as our heads hit the pillows.

Sara left the next day and it was a hard goodbye. Not knowing when the next time we'd see each other, she got in her car and waved as she left. I sighed and drug myself back inside my apartment and made sure I was set for work tomorrow. The post-concert depression was real and I found myself watching back the videos I had, smiling at them I set my phone down and made myself lunch. Well, more like ordered Taco Bell on doordash, but same difference. My food arrived and I ate in silence. I cleaned up my garbage and had a sudden boost of energy that led to me cleaning my apartment. It wasn't messy by any means, but what else do you do with a sudden boost of energy other than randomly clean.

I finished loading my dishwasher and realized it was around 6pm so I threw a frozen pizza I had in my freezer into the oven and sat down to watch tv. I ate my pizza answering the group chat with Sara and Riya with South Park on in the background. I remembered to set my alarm and fell asleep after I took a shower and did my nighttime routine. I begrudgingly go ready for work when I woke up and prepared myself for the double shift I took today. My body was so sore after the back-to-back concerts and having to stand all day that I fell asleep as soon as I sat down on my couch, only to be awoken by a group facetime with Sara and Riya. I answered and continued to lay down. We spent the rest of the night just talking about how much we missed each other and trying to plan another meet up that, hopefully, won't require so much money next time.

Before I knew it, I was packing a bag for Columbus. It was two days before the Columbus show. I've made the drive before for several other concerts and decided I'd drive back immediately after the show to save myself money on a hotel. Once the bag was packed, I double checked everything and got my car ready. I was leaving after work tomorrow and was going to drive overnight and estimated I'd get to the venue around 1:30 in the morning the day of the show.

"How have you been, dear?" Mrs. Lorth asked as I made her usual.

"I've been great! I'm leaving for Columbus after I get off today for another show," I told her with a smile.

Mrs. Lorth was my favorite customer. She'd always get a French vanilla latte and a sandwich and hang around to talk to us, read her book, or crochet.

"That's great," she replied smiling at me. "I'm so glad to see you living your life. You're only young once, you have to make the best of it and do what you love."

"I really do try, Mrs. Lorth. Tomorrow is show number 22 of the year, I think" I laughed.

She smiled and grabbed my hand before responding, "Never let anyone tell you that you shouldn't enjoy your youth. There's always more time to make money and as long as you take care of your responsibilities and yourself, spend what you like and make those memories because pretty soon you'll regret not taking the chances to do so. Don't be like me who lives regretting not doing more of what I loved. I was once like you dear, going to concerts any chance I could. I stopped going after my first husband got upset that I wasn't spending every night with him, even though I'd always invite him out with my friends and I to shows. Never let anyone take that happiness from you," She ended with a smile.

I thanked her and wished her well as she went to go read her book. Eventually my shift came to an end and I rushed home. I got a shower and did another check to make sure I had everything I needed. I got in my car and began my 3 hour drive. I stopped to eat dinner at Sheetz, classy I know, and filled by gas tank before leaving. I got to the venue just before two in the morning like I planned and there was two other people there. I grabbed a blanket out of my car and talked with them before falling asleep and walking up around 8 am to more people around me and even some people doing their makeup and getting ready.
