Miracle: Bad Omens

XVIII

Avery POV

I woke up on my couch and rubbed my hands over my face. I sighed rethinking about what happened last night and decided to go for a jog to try and relax. I get changed into some leggings and a sports bra then tie my hair into a high pony tail. I throw my running shoes on and lock my door as I'm leaving. It was a little hotter out than usual, but there was also a nice breeze that did a little bit to counter act that. I took a route that was a little bit longer than what I would normally take, but it did have more scenic views to help clear my mind.

About half-way through I stopped at this little pond with a bunch of trees and a little clearing to catch my breath. Thankfully the ground was dry and I sat near the edge of the pond underneath a tree. I leaned against a shady tree and did some people watching while taking in my surroundings. I got back up after 15 minutes and finished my jog. I stepped inside after unlocking my door and immediately became thankful for living in the era of air conditioning. I took a quick shower to get the sweat off of me and checked my phone realizing I had left it on do not disturb for the entire morning.

Was going to call but I see that you have do not disturb on give me a call when you're free!

I feel myself smiling hard as I click the call button. It rings twice before he picks up.

"Hey! Sorry I went on a little jog," I told him.

"No worries! Do you jog a lot?" He questioned.

"Not often, usually to kind of clear my mind or just to ground myself," I say sincerely.

He nods understandingly. We continue to talk about different random topics and about me coming down. We made plans to go to this one restaurant that he loves to go to with his family and a couple other of his favorite spots to kind of just show me around. Two hours later he has to go and hop on a call with the guys for some things so we get off and I decide to make myself some ramen for lunch. I open my kitchen window to get a little breeze and decide to clean up my apartment while I wait for my ramen to finish. Even once my ramen is finished I decide to give my counters a good wipe down and throw my dirty dishes into the dishwasher. I make the decision to wait to run it until I finish my ramen so I clean everything. While its running I throw in some laundry and clean up the rest of my apartment while I wait for everything to finish.

Right as I sit down I hear my washer ding letting me know things need swapped over so I sigh and go do that before I forget and have to run it again. I throw another load of laundry in as well seeing as it was beginning to pile up and I had the free time to do so today. After I do all of that I unload my dishwasher and finally sit down. I notice a text from the group chat and decide to facetime them. We sit on the phone for a bit catching up, AKA them trying to pry for information about Nicholas. I jokingly roll my eyes at them and remind them I'm not saying shit until something else happens and I don't jinx it.

Noah POV

I smirk as I notice the smile on my best friends face as he joins the band call.

"Uh oh, what's got Ruffilo all smiley this morning, huh?" Jolly amuses.

"Definitely not Avery, right buddy?" I laugh as he glares through his camera and shakes his head.

"Yeah? How's that been going?" Folio asks him.

"Alright, I thought this was a band call not an 'interrogate Nicholas' call," He rubs his hand over his eyes. "I'll leave the call if that's what this is."

"Alright, alright enough," We all laugh as Jolly speaks trying to keep us all on call.

At some point Matt and Davis joined the call and we began joking around and Davis showed us some possible merch designs. The rest of the call is spent interrogating Nick to finally tell us at least a little bit. I knew a little more than everyone else, but he did tell everyone about how she was going to fly down and stay for a little bit to spend some time together. The boys all poked a little fun at him, but in reality we're all happy he might've actually found someone who's actually good for him. His last girlfriend became pretty toxic so I'm hoping this genuinely works out for him this time.
