The time had passed and the three girls were on their way back to the airport. They had made their goodbyes quick as to avoid too much crying, promising to do this again soon. Avery sat somberly in her car as she watched her friends walk away to go catch their flights to their respective homes. She sighed as she put her car into drive and hadn't even made it out of the airport before a text from Nicholas popped up on her phone. She didn't even think twice before selecting his contact and facetimed him.

Avery's POV

"Hey," I said, my mood picking up a tiny bit.

"I'm guessing you're leaving the airport?" He questioned.

"Yeah, I'm glad I still got them to come out, though I am exhausted. Work's been kicking my ass with these doubles," I explained making a turn.

"I bet," he looked puzzled as he looked through his fridge. "Frozen pizza or doordash?"

"Hm, doordash," I told him. We laughed and continued to talk until I pulled into my parking spot.

I unhooked my phone from my Bluetooth and walked up to my apartment, still on the phone.

"What if you came down to Virginia for a bit?" He asked.

"What?" I asked a little shocked.

Nicholas' POV

Well, that was kind of stupid.

"Never mind, that sounded kind of weird," she cut me off.

"No, I mean I just wasn't expecting that," she smiled.

I really do love her smile. It's cliché but she really is perfect. No make-up, hair not all done up, and her goofy little smile. I feel myself smile back as we talk about her coming down to visit. Damn you Noah for always being right. I see her start to look at flights and make a face.

"What's wrong?" I ask her.

"Flights are so damn expensive, jesus," she sighs.

"Who says you were paying for it?" I ask.

"I'm the one flying down, I'll pay it," I stop her.

"Well I'm the one that suggested it, and not to be that kind of guy but I do have more money," I tell her.

"Doesn't mean I want you to though, then I just feel kind of shitty," she looks at me through the screen.

"Seriously Av, I don't mind. I'll go ahead and look for flights, you just let me know what days you want," I told her genuinely.

I can tell she wants to try and argue but I stop her.

"My idea, I'm paying. Please don't try and argue with me on this. I want you to come see me otherwise I could even just book a flight up there if that makes you feel better," I tell her.

Eventually she decides to let me pay for her to come to me because she's never really been to Virginia. We talk about it more and decide she'll come down next month. We get everything booked and I let her get to bed since I know she has to be at work in the morning.

"Goodnight pretty girl,' I watch her blush at my words.

"Goodnight Nicholas," She smiles at me before hanging up.
