THE stack of papers were placed on chris' desk by viola. he was impressed with how quickly she did it, a grin shown on his face. he gave her a nod of approval, she felt quite proud of herself.

"wow, good work." chris said, as he grabbed the papers from the desk. he began to read, viola going over the information as if she memorized it.

"anthony hether — 26 years old, he moved here from new york, he is now working as a personal trainer at the fitness pro gym.." she stated. he nodded his head several times, his eyes moving word to word.

he moved the papers out of his face, looking at viola. "you think he's working right now?" he asked her. she looked too frightened to answer, quickly shrugging her shoulders with no knowledge. he huffed at her before he went to put his work jacket on and grabbed his keys from the pocket.

"viola, i'm leaving early today. if i get any important calls, please write them down in the file. have a good rest of the day." he said, as he walked out of his office with the papers she gave him.

all the girls swooned at their desks, watching chris walk confidently out of the office. their eyes followed him til he disappeared in the elevator. he heard the dinging every time the elevator hit the next level, looking down at his watch.

he arrived on the lobby level, walking out of the elevator. "woa, where you going?" matthew said, stopping chris in his tracks. (a/n: loud applause for matt's first mention in the story)

"matt, i don't got time for this." chris said, taking matt's hand off of him. matt blocked him from trying to walk out even further.

"chris, we have a fucking meeting in like twenty minutes." matt had excruciating anxiety when it came to being late to meetings. however, chris was the complete opposite —- he couldn't care less. his mindset was he was his own boss so he could do whatever the hell he wants, which was true.

"i have more important shit to do right now." chris snapped, pushing matt out of his way. he stormed out of the building and drove away. chris tried to breathe regularly, trying to calm himself down in this moment. he turned on the music and drove out of the parking lot.
