GABRIELLA moved her face away from his, looking down at the bathroom floor. chris cleared his throat, "i, i'm sorry i didn't mean to look at you that way." he mumbled.
"what way?" she asked, acting oblivious. she clearly knew what look he was giving her, however she just couldn't handle their eye contact.
"looking at you like i want to kiss you.." he whispered. she didn't know he would be so straight forward, she almost regretted asking that question.
gabriella took a step back, chris taking a step closer to her. she put her hand out onto his chest, attempting to create space between them. he looked down at her hand and then back up to look at her with the eye that didn't get furiously punched.
"y-you want to kiss me?" she replied. she mentally slapped herself after those words came out of her mouth. it was like she was teasing a dog with a toy right in their face.
"i've been wanting to kiss you for a long time." he admitted. she didn't know he was going to say something along those lines, but she felt butterflies flying around in her stomach.
"chris.." she whispered, "you're a married man." chris put his hand out to move a strand of her hair out of her face, looking into her eyes.
"not for long." he murmured. gabriella looked at him with confusion absorbed into her eyes.
"what?" she asked. he walked back a little, standing against the bathroom door. he let out a sigh before confessing the truth.
"gabriella, i need to tell you something." he whispered, "cynthia, she has been.. cheating on me for almost three years now. that's actually the reason why i look so fucked up right now." he added as he pointed at his half swollen and bruised face.
she still gave him a confused look, "and i know you're wondering why i'm still with her.." he said. she nodded her head at him. she was deeply curious. why stay with someone if you know they are cheating on you? —she thought to herself.
"but you see this house.. you see this beautiful life that i live and that i have for my son. i only have this because of cynthia's father." he said, "he is one of the biggest buisness man there is and he is the only reason why i'm successful in life." he looked down, not making eye contact with her.
she lifted his chin up to make him look at her and she gave a little smiled at the now ashamed looking boy. "i'm sorry chris. i know that seems like a make it or break it situation." she said, "but is that worth all of this hurt she caused you..?"
she still had her finger under her chin, she loved how innocent he looked as he stared at her. he was constantly being mesmerized by her beauty.
"i thought it was worth it for the past three years." he whispered, "but after meeting you.. i'm realizing more and more how badly i'm being treating by her."
she grabbed the ice pack and held it against his eye again as he kept talking. "she even told the man she cheated on me with that i left her right when she gave birth to sebastian.."
her mouth dropped, getting furious with the information chris just shared with her. "she fucking said that?! how dare she. chris, from the moment i saw you at the park with seb i could tell how amazing of a father you were to that little boy. she never is even here, i doubt she is doing work in new york and probably doing something else. or should i say doing someone else.."
chris laughed, gabriella quickly apologizing after saying that out of pocket comment. "it's okay gabs, you're probably right honestly." he chuckled.
"gabs?" she said.
"sorry.." he mumbled. she moved his curls out of his face, giving him a reassuring smile.
"no.." she replied, "call me gabs."
he smiled back at her.
