WAKING up the next morning, chris felt more relieved than ever. he got closer to gabriella and finally told her the truth. the crazy thing was.. he hasn't even told matt or nick about cynthia cheating on him. so, it was a big step for him that he told gabriella about it.

chris looked to the right side of him, seeing the empty space in his bed. he sighed to himself as he rubs his eyes to attempt to wake himself up. he didn't know when cynthia was going to be home, and honestly— he didn't really care.

he went downstairs, shirtless and wearing just his plaid boxers. he stretched out his arms to relieve his tense muscles. gabriella snapped her head up to him as he yawned loudly, resulting in his eyes closing.

"o-oh good morning chris!" she said. chris opened his eyes quickly and looked at her, his cheeks turning a hot pink color from having so much exposed skin for her to see.

"shit, i.. uh good morning!" chris replied, "i forgot you'd be here so early. i would've put on some clothes, i'm sorry. force of habit i guess." he laughed. she tried to be respectful, and not scan his whole body throughout. she had her eyes glued onto his face, maintaining eye contact with him.

"no worries, i didn't mean to scare you." gabriella muttered, "i, i made you breakfast. and took sebastian to his toddler swimming lessons." chris walked over to her, sitting across from her at the kitchen island. he couldn't help but smile as she slid the plate of pancakes in front of him.

"wow, thank you." he responded. she shrugged her shoulders, this was her job— chris seemed to always forget that.

"no need to thank me chris." she laughed, "you're paying me  well anyway.." she joked, as chris joined in with her laughter. gabriella leaned down, her elbows on the island as she ate her small portion of pancakes. chris on the other hand devouring the stack smothered in maple syrup acting as if he hadn't been fed in weeks.

as he licked his plate clean, his phone began to buzz to the side of him. he looked to see who was calling me. "excuse me for a second." he looked up to gabriella. she nodded her head as he walked away towards the living room.

all gabriella could hear was muffled words and started to grow curious. "are you fucking serious?!" chris screamed to his phone. well, gabriella definitely could hear that. after a short while, chris walked back to the kitchen looking furious at his phone.

"is.. everything alright?" gabriella asked. she didn't want to invade in his privacy, but she genuinely felt bad for how upset he looked from just taking that one phone call.
