LAURA
Just as I thought Mother Earth was on my side, someone falls onto me.
"What the hell?!"
She looks up frustrated, "It was an accident! Chill!"
"Excuse me? Have you never heard of apologises?"
"Whatever princess. I've got to go."
We finally make eye contact and I can't help but stare at her features. She is beautiful, feminine yet masculine and sharp. Her eyes kind of glisten as we look at each other. Her hair's shoulder length with slight curls.
Then I hear a crack and my heart drops. My laptop is snapped in half as she landed on it. She looks down and kind of gasps.
I groan loudly, "You idiot! Look at what you have done!"
She scratches her head as she stands up, "What's your name?"
"Excuse me?"
I can see the physical irritation arise in her, "Give me your name and address. I'll send you a new one."
"I'd rather go into debt buying a new one than to give a complete stranger my address."
"Fine. Be a bitch then," she scoffs and then continues on her run.
What an arsehole.
Laying down on the blanket, I stare up at the nearly all blue sky. The clouds seem to dance before my eyes while the sound of nature calms me from the previous encounter. Looking around, there are children playing and couples walking together.
I feel so alone sometimes. I have friends but we don't see each other that much due to work. And my love life...well I've been single for five years and never looked back. It wasn't a bad relationship but we both wanted separate things in our lives.
Since then I have been writing and only focusing on that. I made a best seller about two years go which has helped me financially but now my publisher wants more and I don't feel anything. I have been in this block for a year now. I have no passion.
Looking at my watch, it's been four hours. I gather my things and start my walk to the car but then I hear someone shout behind me.
"Excuse me miss!" He seems to be looking at me, "Yes you!"
I raise a brow, "Um hello?"
He catches his breath after running towards me, then passing me a box. I take a look at it, seeing it's a laptop. A newer spec as well. Now I'm even more confused.
"My employer told me that I'll find you here. I had to be quick. But this is for you. She told me to tell you to have less of an attitude."
This boils my blood, "Your employer is a stupid bitch! And she can keep her damn laptop and shove it up her ass. Tell her that!"
I storm off with the box in his hands and me heading to my car. As soon as I start the engine, I can see him standing there with a shocked expression.
Starting my drive, I take the quickest route back to my house. After parking up on the drive, I head in and throw my keys on the sofa. Luckily I still have some dinner from yesterday just sitting in the fridge. After warming it up, I take a seat on my sofa and watch something while eating. About ten minutes in, there's a knock on my door.
