CHARLIE
When I tell you I have gasps more times than I could count. I have had my jaw dropped about ten times and my mind spinning, you wouldn't believe me.
So let me catch you all up on what has happened in the past twenty four hours.
Dana has revealed that she cheated on her husband but that was after she found out he cheated on her. He doesn't know that we know about his mystery child and mistress.
Now remember when I said that I'll sort it out when I'm back? Yeah no one listens to me.
Somehow Tess has paid the PI to dig further into Dana and her contracts. We have discovered that it was all a sham, her now ex husband made up the so called "Contract" he had written with her.
He thought that making it look old and putting a random date from ten years ago would convince us. The problem is that the form has a time stamp at the bottom. Dated a few weeks before the divorce papers were sent off.
I have learnt all their secrets in the past hour and I'm honestly exhausted. By the end of the meeting we decided on a settlement. He will leave with a good amount of money and his name stripped from any assets. Dana will be keeping everything which she rightly deserves.
As I watch the two, the man scoffs then signs the sheet and walks out the room. His lawyer shaking our hands and walking out after.
Taking a deep breath, Dana looks at me and hugs me tightly. It's unexpected but relaxing to know that this is all over. Hopefully.
Tess stands up with a large smile, "I think we should go and have some drinks."
I nod, "Yes we should. Dana, care to join?"
She chuckles, "No. This will be my first night with the kids for weeks since the whole custody battle and fighting. I'm going to spend the night with them...I want to thank you both for such a great accomplishment. I was so scared that this would go wrong and I'd lose everyone and everything. But you guys pulled through. I'll be giving a hefty amount to you both. So thank you..."
She hugs us both before leaving the office with her eyes full of tears.
I can feel myself getting emotional at how relaxed she finally looks.
Tess walks to the mini bar in my office and pours us both some scotch. She smiles as she takes a sip.
"Are you sure you don't want to come back?"
I sip on my own and allow the feeling of bitter warmth pass through me. She still looks at me hard, almost as if she is begging me with her eyes. As much as I'd like to go back, I still find that my heart is set where I am. Maybe in the future it could change but right now, I find peace in my business.
"Maybe later on in life. But not now," I state.
She nods, "Let me know if you change your mind...I should probably finish this then head home. And you, you need to go and see my daughter."
I chuckle, "Yes I do Tess. Yes I do."
Once she leaves, I pack up the remaining files I had out and put them in my bag. I'll be working from home tomorrow so it's better off I leave my office clean for when I do come back.
Letting my assistant go home early, I lock up and leave my office. My work phone is still on just incase anything happens but right now my mind is on the woman waiting for me at home.

"Okay but Gavin, what else should I add to this then?"
