CHARLIE
I'm an idiot. I'm an actual idiot. I've had Mark absolutely ruin my life, he has thrown a whole bunch of abuse at me to fix up. I ended me and Quinn, my behaviour recently wasn't right. I don't want to do something and hurt her. So I ended it. Luckily she was understanding, she told me that she felt like I wasn't ready.
Oh and to make things worse, I have avoided Laura at all costs. I have been knee deep in work to avoid the whole situation. Realistically I was drunk, horny and saying random things.
There's a knock on my door so I stand up and open it, it's my dad. He walks into my office with a glum look on his face. I haven't spoken to him since the day I knocked him out. My mum has reached out to ask what happened, meaning my dad didn't tell her.
I told Yasmin and she told me off but also knew that the time was going to come when I would lash out.
"Dad."
"Daughter. It's nice to see you looking so fresh and healthy," he scoffs.
"Thank you? Um why are you here?"
He takes a seat, "I need you to invest in a business for me. It's a small one with a lot of potential. The only way I can get the client is if they get a shit load of money coming their way and I heard that they like you for some reason."
"Who are they?"
"James Walker."
I shake my head, "Nope. I'm okay. I won't give that man a penny."
Dad frowns, "But why? This will help me excel and it is within my industry!"
"And? Why don't you pay into their business? You can afford it. I can't stand the man."
"For once in your life Charlie, think about anyone but you self!"
After some more back and forth, he finally leaves empty handed. My dad does this quite often, finding a client I hate and somehow becoming best friends with them. It's like he directly wants my life ruined.
"Umm Miss Cameron, you have a visitor."
"Send them in please."
A second later Camila walks into my office, "Before you say anything, it's Laura's birthday in a few days. I know you two had a fight and I know you haven't spoken since but please come to it."
Leaning against my desk, I adjust my tie and think about it.
"I don't think it's wise. We can never be friends, we argue too much. And hurt each other."
She shakes her head, "Mark told me that you have been on your own for a while. You don't even sleep around but you slept with Laura...why is that?"
"Hmm I was horny."
"Your dickhead behaviour isn't going to work with me Charlie. Now be the friend that you want to be for her and be there."
"Cammie, Gavin will kick me out before I even get a chance to say hello."
She smiles, "They broke up. They're only friends, and it's better off because I think she has her eyes on someone else."
