20. Ashi 's birthday (part 1)

Ashi's pov:

It's been a week since my accident . In this week everyone took great care of me. They never for once left my side. For two days maa used to sleep with me to take care of me. sometimes I fill so overwhelmed by their love. I don't know what good things I did to get them as my family.

Thinking about family reminds me of him. I don't know how he must be. Sometimes I think I am so stupid atleast I should ask him. I know he loved di very much so their memories must have flooded in his mind. But then he is also wrong he shouldn't speak all that shit to me. He don't even know how hurt I was listening to that. Guess we both were wrong and we can solve this by communication. But where he is only mahadev knows. I tried calling him but he never picked up so I stopped calling. If he wants to talk he can come here now I won't make any effort .

My thought process was broken when maa came inside with haldi wala dhud (turmeric milk). " Maa not again. I am fine now.please I don't want to drink this."I whinned to maa like a child . " Ashi" maa said with a glare making me take the glass from her hands. So to distract my mind from the taste I did which I do from last week. Sing a song with each sip.

Aalu baingan ki shaadi mein
Bindi dholak lekar aayi
Mirchi ne bhi saree pehni
Tori ne bhi gehna pehna
Kaddu ban Gaye pandit ji
Saare milkar nacho ji
Hum ko bhi baarat mein jaana
Chutti kardo madam ji.

With this I completed milk and maa chuckled before smacking my head and mouthing 'pagal ladki'. I took my phone to scroll on Instagram that's when I noticed the date. It 's my birthday tomorrow. For others it may be a happy birthday but for me it's always a sad one when I always realise that I am worthless. I don't have anyone for me. On my birthday morning I go to mahadev's temple and the rest of the day I spend in my room crying. Only bhai would wish me and bring a cake for me and we would just cut a cake only two of us.

I wiped the lone tear that escaped my eye and got up to freshen up. After freshing up I went down directly to the mini theatre knowing very well they would be here. And here they were selecting a movie. Finally after a lot of discussion we decided to watch ' andaz apna apna' with the funny moments of crime master gogo.

After the movie we decided to go to a restaurant because I and viv craved to eat 'bahar ka khaana'.dad already had booked the table for us so we didn't had to wait. Going inside we all sat on a table which was reserved to us.soon we ordered our dish and it was served.but the entire time I felt someone's eye on me. I looked back to see but I saw no one. Shrugging my shoulders I dig in my food. After the dinner we went to eat ice cream and then finally went back home. The whole time was fun with movie dinner and icecream party but it would be more fun if he would join us too. Shrugging my shoulders I went directly to my room to study. In this week I have not concentrated on studies.

Author's pov:

Meanwhile in the garden Vivek and his parents were sitting on the table when Vivek suddenly spoke up " shit how can I forget this" seeing Vivek tense his mother asked " what happened Vivek" "maa it's bhabhs birthday tomorrow. In this chaos it completely slipped my mind. I wanted to make it special ever since bhabhs told me her family never celebrated her birthday. I wanted her this birthday to be special for her." Vivek spoke feeling sad about forgetting her birthday." Hey bhagwan! Kya Karu mein tera. Pehle nahi bata sakta tha. Bechari meri bachi ne kitna Saha hai but ab nahi. Kal uska birthday hum aise celebrate karege ki usko hamesha yaad rahega." With this they planned everything for her birthday.
