Chapter 18

Y/N and Yuji started to train as Gojo departed.

Y/N sat on the corner of the couch as her hand rested on the armrest while Yuji lay on his side with his head cradled in his palm, facing her.

After settling down on the couch to watch the movie, a sudden turn of events unfolded. The doll punched Y/N's cheek and she let out a small cry. Yuji was startled by the situation, his flow of cursed energy ceased causing the other doll to hit Yuji on the cheek as well.

They both looked at each other with a frustrated yet sorrowful face.

Hours passed they continued to train.

For Y/N it was not going so well, the doll kept hitting her in the interval of 20 minutes, each hit harsher than before.

On the other hand, Yuji had better control over his cursed energy, even when Y/N got hit by the doll, his flow of cursed energy was unaffected.

Hours passed and there were no alternations in
Y/N's status.

Disappointed in herself, a wave of negative emotions ran through her veins. Her thoughts, even more troubling.

"It's been hours and i still can get a grip of it.."

"I-I can't even do this! Im so useless!"

"I'm failing at the first step.."

"How will I get better if I fail like this..?"

"Am I even worthy of being a sorcerer?"

"Would I be helpful..? or..just a burden to them..?"

She let out a disappointed sigh.

Yuji noticed it and questioned her.

"Are you okay, L/N?"

"L/N?" he called out again snapping her back into reality.

"Oh..Yeah?" she looked at him and her face clearly showed her emotions.

"Are you alright, L/N? You don't seem like your usual self." he questioned in a concerned tone.

"Don't worry Itadori Im-" before she could finish the doll hit her cause her to let out a loud cry.

She looked at Yuji with one of her hands on her cheek and faked a smiled "Im fine Itadori!"

Yuji sensed instantly that she was lying, but he refrained from pressing further. Knowing that she would not appreciate additional questioning.

Yuji nodded in response.

By every passing second, Y/N's thoughts were on peaking it's negativity.

Her mind had thoughts of her doubting herself, grief over her failure, and a lingering sense of shame because despite the passage of time, she still struggled to get the cursed energy flowing.

Due to the thoughts, she didn't realise how much time passed.

"L/N" Yuji called out a few times but she didn't react.

Suddenly Yuji yelled.

"L/N!!!! ITS BEEN 40 MINUTES AND IT STILL DIDN'T HIT YOU!!"

"Huh?" she turned to Yuji.

"You're finally getting the flow of cursed energy!!"

"Wait..what? Really?" She gazed at Yuji in disbelief.

Yuji nodded, a cute smile on his face.

Y/N couldn't help but smile back at his innocent expression, but this moment didn't last long as the doll punched her face.
