After school, Sydney decided to try and study when she heard a noise coming from her window, when she looked out, she was Cole standing there, she opened her window "wanna go somewhere" he said looking up at her, she said nothing, grabbing her coat, slipping her shoes on and running up to his car. "So where we going Coco?" he smiled at the nickname she had given him when she was 2 years old, she didn't use it very much anymore now they were older but he made me feel at home when she used it, "well it wouldn't be a surprise if i told you".
They had been driving for 15 minutes when they arrived, she couldn't help but smile when she saw where they were, the watering hole it was their place, Cole walked around the truck opening the door for Sydney helping her out, they walked down the rocks too see a picnic laid out, "Cole, what is all this?" "It's your welcome home party but from me, I'm sorry I wasn't at the bbq when you came home" "it's okay, this is better" she smiled giving him a hug and sitting down. The picnic basket was full of all her favourite things, raspberries, hersheys, sour patch, pink lemonade, chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate muffins, deli meats with cheese and her favourite flowers, wild pink cherry blossoms. "Cole, I can't believe you did all this" she gave him a kiss on the cheek and grabbed a raspberry popping it in her mouth, "well you deserve it" they stayed there chatting all about Sydney's time in Florida and how Cole was failing in school, they watched the sun set and decided to pack up. "Sydney, wait" she turned around and Cole locked his lips with hers, she leaned into the kiss putting her hands around his neck, they broke away just resting on each others foreheads. "We should probably go, it's getting late" Sydney said breathless, "come on then S, let's get you home" smiling at the girl. Cole have Sydney a kiss goodbye and she ran up the porch and into the house.
"And where do you think you've been?" Her mum and dad were both sat at the kitchen island, "erm, I was out with Cole" she went to walk upstairs "who said we were done talking" "mom, I already told you I was with Cole" "and where were you this late?" "Mom it's only 8 o'clock and we were at the watering hole catching up" her parents knew they hadn't spoke over the summer "okay fine but you must let us know if you're coming home later, okay pumpkin?" He dad finally spoke, he always played good cop with all the kids, except with Sawyer he was always hard on him maybe it was because he was the first born, the first son, "yes dad, I should of called and let you know I'm sorry, I will next time" kissing him on the cheek "now go start some homework honey" her mother gave a tight smile.
