Sydney hadn't spoke to Cole since she woke up Sunday morning leaving his message on read, she tried to avoid Cole which worked for 2 days as she kept herself busy with school work. She walked into the girls bathroom and when she came out of the stall she was met with Jackie. "Oh hey Jackie, how are you?" Smiling at the girl, "I'm fine thanks" "how you finding everything? I hope the boys aren't driving you crazy" with a chuckle "yeah it's all fine and no they aren't, they are actually reallyyyy welcoming" with a fake grin leaving the girls bathroom. What did she mean by that? 'reallyyy welcoming' was she talking about Cole? No she wasn't thinking about Cole anymore, she wasn't wasting anymore time on him. By the time she knew it, it was home time, she couldn't wait to go home and just relax, she did all her homework and extra credit in her free period but no relaxing for her. As soon as she got home her mom told her to go upstairs and change as they were going over to the Walters for Bennys birthday. So much for ignoring a certain someone. She really didn't wanna go but she loved Benny so she couldn't miss it, she walked through the door with a present in hand, they all sat round while Benny opened some presents, she could feel Coles eyes on her but she swore not to look at him. They ate Bennys favourite dinner, meatballs, sitting far as possible away from Cole. She was coming out of the upstairs bathroom when she bumped into Cole who was waiting right outside the door, "hey S, this is a new dress, it looks good on you" looking her up and down with a wink "yeah thanks, excuse me" trying to push past him, "hey what's with the attitude" confused at her behaviour, "I don't have an attitude" "yes you do, what's your problem?" "been to the watering hole recently" that sentence left a sour taste in her mouth knowing he had taken Jackie of all people to their place, "oh come on S, you know it's not like that it didn't mean anything" how did she know? who told her? "i guess our kiss didn't mean anything to you either, right?" leaving him standing in front of bathroom wondering how badly he had messed up. Little did Syd and Cole know someone was lurking round the corner listening in on their conversation.
Tuesday Sydney was dreading school, she couldn't sleep last night after her conversation with Cole, he didn't even follow her or even message her to explain or see if she was okay. She just wanted school to flash past so she could lock herself in her room with her homework and art. Third period was a free one so she decided to head to the art room and finish her project, she saw Kiley, Grace and Jackie sat at a table and decided to go join them. "Hey, mind if i sit?" Smiling at the girls "of course, sit sit sit" Grace said practically pulling her arm off, she missed hanging out with them and now she was excited to spend some time with Jackie. "What you guys talking about?" "We're talking about how the God of all Gods walked Jackie here and was flirting with her" squealing with excitement "who?" Sydney was confused on who she was talking about "COLE !!!! You idiot, who else?? He's the hottest guy ever, is he a good kisser? Come on Syd you must of kissed" "woah woah woah, what do you mean 'we must of kissed' ?" "You guys have been besties your whole lifes, you must of locked lips at least once" "well miss nosey, that is none of you business, you kiss and never tell us" she giggled, she looked over at Jackie who didn't look very happy with Sydney's answer to the kiss question. As they worked they chatted and exchanged small talk until Grace started gossiping to Kiley once again, she couldn't help herself, she loved drama and gossip, she lived for it. Sydney decided to try talk to Jackie, "so Jackie, what you working on?" "Just some extra credit" looking down at her book "oh for what class, maybe we can exchange notes? Give eachother some tips?" Hoping it could start a friendship between the two, "erm I don't need any notes from you thanks" "oh no I wasn't saying you needed help or anything, just thought it could be helpful" she wasn't trying to offend the girl and now she felt bad. Jackie was seething on the inside, what could Cole see in Sydney? She watched as Sydney studied on her art piece, paint every detail, mixing up the right colours, she couldn't see what she was painting but she didn't care, she didn't like Sydney, something about her didn't sit right with her. "Sorry guys gotta run, I need to hand my extra credit in" as Jackie stood up she had made up her mind, she accidentally knocked the glass of water over and it happened to spill all over Sydney's art book, Sydney tried to grab the book in time but she wasn't quick enough, "omg, I'm so sorry Sydney, I didn't see the glass there" in a fake sad tone. Sydney found herself in the bathroom crying, she heard the bell and decided to clean herself up and go back out there and try to forget about it.
But she wouldn't forget about it as Cole noticed her red eyes and swollen lips. ____________________________________ I wonder who was lurking round the corner?? What's Jackie's problem with S?
Dw Jackie and Sydney will slowly become friends but for know they aren't.
