Yes, that is a picture of Jace. Sorry this is such a short chapter. I'll make up for it in the next one. Isn't he perfect? :P
Enjoy. xoxo Lyds.

I wanted to kill that waste of a human life, Greyson. He hurt Avery and I couldn't live with that. I wanted more than anything to just kill him. He didn't deserve to live after what he had done to her. I was falling in love with Avery and there was no denying that. She was perfect with soft brown eyes, dark hair, tanned skin, she was short and I loved short girls. She had an amazing personality. Her smile made me melt inside. I first met her bumping into eachother at a Flash Foods store and now I'm watching over her. She was my main priority weather she liked it or not. The past few days have been hell on her. She would wake up from nightmares screaming her lungs out, she stayed to herself, and didn't eat right. Now she was laying peacefully in my arms fast asleep. She looked so peaceful. I easily picked her up and carried her upstairs to her bedroom laying her gracefully down and tucking her in. Her eyes opened slowly.

"Sorry, didn't mean to wake you." I said stroking her face.

"It's fine. How long have I been sleeping?" Her voice sounded croacky but it was still cute.

"Only three hours. Your dad said he had to work night shift to fail in for someone at work." I said to her soothingly.

"Oh. Okay. Come here" I layed down beside her and she cuddled up next to me. We both drifted into a deep sleep.

I woke up to an empty bed and wondered where Jace had wondered off to. I layed there for a few minutes and to my surprise Jace was carrying a tray with breakfast on it. A smile widened across my face and I blushed at him.

"Look who's finally up." I chuckled at him. He sat beside me and we began to eat.

"You're not a bad cook." I smiled and he chuckled.

"Well I learn from my mom. She taught me almost everything I know."

"You never talk about your dad. Why? If you don't mind me asking."

"No. It's fine. He wasn't really in my life a whole lot. My patents got divorced when I was three and I've seen him occasionally. I love him but I barley know him."

"Why didn't he spend time with you?"

"He was always working and could never find time to see me. After her switched jobs he settled down with a woman and had another family. I don't hate him or anything I just don't have a use for him anymore. I went through the phase where I hated him. But I'm at peace with the whole situation." He looked down and continued to eat his eggs. I kissed his cheek lightly and he blushed.

"What about your mom? You and your dad never seem talk about her."

I felt my face get hot as I began thinking about my mom and brother. Tears streamed down my face.

"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to make you upset." He held me in his arms and I sobbed into his t-shirt.

"No, it's fine. It just hurts to talk about my mom. I lost her and my brother last year. A drunken driver hit them head on. I just miss them so much." I dried my tears.

" I didn't know Avery. I'm so sorry. I couldn't imagine having to live through that."

Jace took me by the hands and stood me straight up. I looked like a mess with sweatpants, a t-shirt, and a messy bun. He got down on one knee and I was wondering where this was going.
"Avery, umm what's your middle name?" I chuckled at how he had to ask my middle name.

"Nicole."

"Okay, Avery Nicole Patterson, will you do me the great honor and go on a date with me tomorrow? "

I felt myself blushing at him.

"Just one date?" I asked teasingly.

"One date. If you like it then maybe we can go on more. If you'd like."

"Yes. Of course i'd do you the honor and go on a date with you. Just nothing expensive."

He lifted me up and twirled me around. I leaned up and kissed him passionately. I could feel the chemistry burning between us.

"Ummm. I-I'm sorry." I stuttered to say biting my lip. He just smiled and kissed my forehead.
