I woke up to a beautiful sunrise and the smell of wonderful bacon. My dad was up early. I wondered what we were going to do today, maybe I can talk him into going fishing with me. We haven't been fishing since I was little. I ran down the hall to the kitchen.

"Dad, want to go fishing with me today?" I asked childlike.

"Well, that sounds like a good idea but I was thinking you could meet some people your age and hang out."

"Why would I need to hang out with people my age?"

"Well, you only have two friends back home. Greyson and Allison. I figured you could borrow the truck for the day and go make new friends."

"Me? New friends? Haha. That's funny. I can't even make friends with a fish much less a human being." I honestly didn't know why I'd need friends. The people I'm around now are just fine. It also doesn't help being a socially awkward person.

"Eat, get dressed, and go. I have plans today anyhow. You're almost grown and it's time for you to experience life for a day on your own." I wondered what plans he had but I didn't know to say to that so I just went with it.

Cut off jean shorts, Southern Girl t-shirt, and cowgirl boots. I stepped in front of the mirror to see how I looked.

"Ugh, being ugly sucks." I laughed because I knew it wasn't true.

"Dad, where are the keys?" I searched everywhere and couldn't find them.

"Oh, they're in my pocket."

He tossed me the keys and I walked to the old Chevy and crunk it up. My dad and I were Chevy people. Ford absolutely sucks! Well that's an exaggeration because it isn't that bad but I still love Chevy, Ford is okay.
I rode to the creek and set up my lawn chair, fishing bait, and my rod. I sat there soaking up the summer sun, the nice cool breeze, and the peacefulness. All of a sudden my rod started pulling and I started reeling in.

"Almost got it! Almost!"

And all I caught was a stick! A freaking stick! I heard a laugh from behind me and I jumped. It was the guy, the guy from the store.

"Avery, I suppose."

"That's me. And you're Jace?"

"That I am..." He trailed off.

"I thought we'd never see eachother again." He laughed.

"I was hoping we wouldn't." I said rudely.

"Why are you being so mean Avery?

"You know you wanted to see me again. You can't deny it."
He came off as such a jerk. I didn't like it.

"No, I have a boyfriend. So you can stop now."

"That can change quickly. Couldn't it?" He was so cocky and I hated it.

"No, it couldn't change. I just so happen to love him." I was really hoping he'd leave soon. Although I did notice his face went from happy to disappointing. I wondered what he was thinking.

"Why are you here anyways?" I asked. "Are you stalking me?"

"No. I wouldn't call it stalking. I'm visiting my grandpa, who just so happens to own the creek." My eyes widened.

"Your grandpa owns the creek? He practically helped raise my dad. They're really close."

"Yeah I know my grandfather told me about that. He also said a young girl would be down here fishing for the day. I just didn't know you were that girl."

I honestly had no idea where he thought all of this was going.

"Oh and by the way, that was a nice stick you caught." He said laughing at me. I could feel my cheeks getting hot.
