4. Viggo Grimborn

Contrary to expectations, the door swung open silently. A man, barely taller than Hicks himself, stepped in with deliberate steps. His arms were crossed behind his back. He came to a halt in front of Hiccup's cell and looked at him with dark eyes: "Hello, Hiccup." He said with a satisfied look on his face. Hiccup could have sworn he saw him smile for a split second. Hiccup returned a contrite "Viggo Grimborn." "Now, now, Hiccup. Is that a way to greet your host? I was sure Stoic raised you more gratefully." He replied with a superior gleam in his eye."What do you want Viggo?" said Hiccup angrily, gripping the bars. He was tired of feeling that cold, rough metal between his hands. The chains clanked uncomfortably loud and Viggo took a step closer to him."Oh, Hiccup. You're way too hasty." He ran his hand casually over the bars, brushing Hiccup's fingers briefly. The touch felt like a lightning strike and jolted his body with awkwardly. Abruptly, he let go of the bars and rubbed his hands together. "You always want to know the plot before the drama has even begun. Besides, the development of our game is what makes it so exciting. That's why we're here, because a game between two rulers needs to be decided." He smiled, paused and studied Hiccup's face intently. Hiccup stared back just as stubbornly. His gray Eyes wandered from his eyes over the bridge of his nose, down to the curve of his lips, where they lingered briefly. He crossed his hands behind his back, turned to the side and continued with a grin in his voice: "Anyway, I'm looking forward to welcoming you on board of my ship. It will be fun with us, believe me. At the very least, I wish you a pleasant stay." Hiccup looked at Viggo's side profile again, but before he could say anything in reply, the broad-shouldered man had already stepped out of the door. Hiccup sighed and sank to the floor, exhausted. He rested his aching head against the wooden bow wall and listened to the sound of the waves as they slowly lulled him into a deep, dreamless sleep.
