TRIGGER WARNING.
AND DOUBLE UPDATE YAYA
Niall's POV:
I tried to stop. I really did. I was in the college restroom, my sleeves rolled up and my wrist bleeding. I sat there on the toilet seat, numb to any kind of feeling.Today was our last day of college, our break was starting. The thought of going to my father's funeral made me want to puke. I didn't want to go at all. 'You will have to say the eulogy,' my brother had said, 'because you were the one with him for the longest time. I will inform you if mother would come too. Don't worry, the eulogy will be given by the church, you just have to read the cards.'
He had called yesterday to fill me in with details, and that he has already booked tickets for me. He said he had booked two, just in case I had to bring 'moral support'. I hate him so much. I never thought of taking any one. I thought Harry would come, but I didn't want to ruin Harry's break.
I dabbed my wrists with tissue paper until they stopped bleeding. I rolled my sleeves down, and flushed the tissue paper. I got out of the stall and looked at myself in the mirror.
Why am I so pathetic?
I washed my hands and my face and ruffled my blonde hair. The brown roots had started showing up again, which made my hair look grosser. I walked out of the restroom, my arms aching. I checked the time on my phone. The last class was going to get over in ten minutes. I saw no point in returning to class, so I just ditched it and headed for the cafeteria.
After about twelve minutes, students began to fill the cafeteria, talking about the trip to Brighton. I'd almost forgot about that. I will have to apologise to Bella for not coming. I wasn't looking forward to that at all. I was sitting in the corner and like usual, nobody noticed me. I continued checking my twitter until I heard a voice calling me.
"Niall!" Bella called out to me, and in a few seconds she was standing in front of me.
"Hi." I said to her. She said the same back and smiled. Now let me tell you something, she looked beautiful today. She had let her straight brown hair down, and was wearing a floral tank top (I think that's what it's called, I'm not good in the fashion department) and a sea blue skirt. It's either she looked extra beautiful today or I didn't notice before.
"It's break, finally. The college literally chokes me with homework." She said.
"Yeah, it sure does." I replied.
"So, what're you doing this summer, Niall?" She asked. My body tensed at the mention of my summer program.
I am going to Ireland for my father's funeral, I wanted to say but I cut the funeral part.
"I am visiting Ireland." I said.
"It's your father's funeral, isn't it?" She asked, her voice growing soft.
"Yeah." I said blinking back tears. I was expecting her to say something like, I'm sorry for your loss, and leave the subject, but what she did surprised me. She hugged me. She wrapped her arms around me, and I didn't know what to do. I just put my arms around her neck, embracing the little comfort that had been offered to me.
"It will be okay, Niall." She said after pulling away from the hug. I didn't really want her to pull away, because her hug made me feel secure.
"I'm sorry I couldn't come with you Brighton, I knew you really wanted to go." I apologised to her, remembering I had to.
"It's okay, Niall. Bad things happen sometimes." She said. After she said that, there was silence, nobody spoke a word. I stared down at her, looking into her eyes. She was looking back at me with her brown doe eyes which always made me melt. And yet, the moment was broken by Liam and Louis. Why can't they just fuck off? Peasants. Wait wait wait. When did I get so snappy about stuff like this?
