'I hate that man', Liya grovelled, looking out for any signs of Lan Fen

She fidgeted with her braided locks that were tied firmly with a violet ribbon, her body stiffened at the presence of a predator, 'You called?'

Lan Fen's voice snapped her back to Earth as she looked at the wealthy woman sitting opposite her, the sparkling diamonds that hung around her neck even intimidated her. 'Yes so...about the other day-'

'I swear the Huangs are the same'

Liya blinked as her snarky voice hissed, 'They all become friends with you, some enter your heart and then they break your trust like snakes. Yes..that man, Yu Xuan?, he's a snake'

'Uh huh..'

Her eyes snapped at her, 'What do you want to ask?'

Liya calmly sipped her mocha, 'Why did you have his files?'

Lan Fen's face twisted pale, 'Well I..I'm a lawyer, I need my clients personal information to help them with their cases'

'The Huang's especially Ji Hu, Hao Ran and Yu Xuan would never have you as their lawyer', she explained, 'Why do you have files on them?'

'It's for work I swear'

'Yu Xuan documents were legitimate', she continued, 'They weren't copies, no one would have those except the owner themselves so what is going on?'

Her toothy grin was replaced with an agape look, shocked and confused, the predator slowly became the prey. 'I was going to make copies of them', she replied, standing her ground, 'I needed them'

'Why?'

'Insurance', she replied

'Insurance?'

She pulled out her phone and slide it across barely in time for Liya to catch it, 'His mother hates Ji Hu', she answered, 'I was told to find a way to remove her, then I'll get a place in their family'

'So I just used my power as lawyer to..find information, plus with his mother's help I managed to gain her personal documents', she continued, 'But this family, they're as genuine as a jackal sometimes so I also took some..insurance'

'If they didn't give you what they owed you'd blackmail them into giving it', Liya realized, 'So that's your..insurance'

She nodded, 'So you can arrest me if you want to since I..stole', she admitted, 'But if you really want to solve this whole murder, I suggest you find the killer first'

'The only reason I'm not arresting you now Lan Fen..is because:'

'1, you're useful as of now'

'2, I don't want to arrest you twice. Once for stealing and the other for killing your ex boyfriend'

Chen Fang swiftly unlocked the window and they both tiptoed inside, careful to look out for hidden cameras or sirens that could alarm them. 'Why are we here again anyway?'

'To check some things', he replied, 'Plus, I took note of where Yu Xuan stays from his personal file, they live really close'

'Once we're done doing another sweep of Lan Fen's place, you're going to go meet with Yu Xuan'

'I already messaged him, he says he's going to take you out to lunch to apologize'
