Chapter 13

The tornado must be above us or very close, there were many crashes and thuds. We could feel the floor shaking. I got up and turned one of the lamps on.

Rachel was crying she was terrified, I was going to go over to her but Calum put an arm around her, pulling her close and talking calmly.

I sighed and grabbed my vlogging camera out of my bag. I turned it on and hit record and turned it to me, "Hey guys, so there is a tornado going on right now" I said with crashes going on as I spoke.

"We are down in the basement that some of you should have seen in my other videos" I flipped the camera around and showed the basement before turning it back to me.

"We can't sleep its so loud, it is 2:32am" I said rubbing my eyes yawning and soon laid down still holding the camera up.

"We are sleeping in sleeping bags" I showed the boys and Valerie who was more calm now. "Matthew is here too, but he is on the couch" I turned the camera to him and he waved.

"Yeah, hope this blows over soon. What did it say it would last to? ...2 days to what?" I asked Luke scooting closer to him so he was in frame. "I think a week, yeah" He sighed.

I groaned and sat the camera down as my arm was hurting. I got up and walked over to the closet door, turning the flash on, on the camera and turning it to the door and opened it.

I felt something run over my foot as something flew into my face, I screamed falling back. I looked behind me to see a mouse running away and a bat was flying around the room.

'WTF IS A BAT DOING IN HERE?!' I thought to myself. I got up and brushed the dirt off of me, I turned around and saw the bat flying towards me.

I started walking backwards, which ended with me trying on the lamp wire. I fell back getting a sharp pain in the middle towards the left side of my back, the lamp falling and breaking.

I grabbed the camera, the flash still on and shined it in front of me the bat now hanging on the ceiling on the other side of the room, I shown it above me and saw three more bats.

The refrigerator was to my left, I looked behind me, and saw what made the sharp pain when I fell, there was a doorknob.

"What the..? Let's go on an adventure and see what's behind this door" I said to the camera before getting up and shining the light on the door gripping the door and opening it slowly.

I opened it and there were filing cabinets, folders, scrapbooks, bunch of things. Everyone followed me as I wiped dust off folders and looked in things. Most of it was Dad's work stuff.

We continued to look through more folders and found baby pictures of me then of Calum and even some of us together.

We found old pictures of me and Rachel, me and Matthew, then all of us together. Found old pictures of Mom and Dad then found pictures of a little girl they looked recent.

We looked on the back thinking they were mom but found dates of when she was born which were only 3 years ago. We looked around more and found out that it was their daughter.

We found paper work on it and then there was paperwork for when they put her to an orphanage with the reasons being:

*We can't take care of her, we are low on pay and don't want her to live this way. We already have two kids well adopted kids. One of tour at the moment and the other living with us. We just want her to live in a better paid and better place, and be more happy*

"Mom and Dad had a kid" I whispered as everyone was off looking at other things.
