uthor's pov

“Good for you. Don't forget the past, Ruanika.” Harika says, taking closer steps towards her.

“Don't forget the way you were betrayed, the way you were made fun of, ended up as a joke.” Ruanika’s fingers started trembling and sweat beads formed at her temple.

She stared at the ground unable to lift her gaze. A side of Harika's lips lifted into a smirk. She leaned closer and whispered in Ruanika's ears,

“Never forget that you were nothing but a mere toy to him.” Ruani’s head swiftly raised to her words, fighting her tears back.

“I’m no one's toy. Even if someone dares to mess with me, then I’ll teach them how the game is played.” Ruani states in a stern voice and walks past her.

However, Harika doesn't let go, she pulls Ruani back by her wrist and tighten the hold as she speaks, “ Do whatever you desire Ruanika, just stay away from my Kian.” Harika warns and releases Ruani’s wrist which was now bruised.

Saying so, she exits the washroom. Ruanika, even though she doesn't like him, she mentally laughed, reconsidering the words ‘My Kian’ from Harika's mouth.

Time skip

Though Ruani tried her best to deny, Harika's visit had stirred the tempest of Ruani’s past.

A chapter of her in the book of life which she wished to tear and burn down to ashes. A part of her entity that always haunted her.

Ruani could never forget it and move on. But she faked it very well, making everyone believe that she was fine and nothing affected her.

The way Kian behaved with her in the last few weeks slightly changed her feelings towards him, melting the tip of a huge glacier of hate.

Unfortunately, it didn't take much time for her to get former feeling back.

Storming into her room, Ruani threw herself on bed and stared at the ceiling for what felt like an eternity. She had taken early leave from work because she found it too hard to focus.

Her mind kept going back to her and Harika's conversation.

Ruani rose up and grabbed the Kian denim jacket he had given her earlier. Her heart and mind both were lacking certainty about Kian. Has he actually changed or is everything a mere act?

Taking a scissors in her hand, she started destroying the Jacket, removing all her bottled up anger. She had cried so much about that now all the tears had dried up leaving nothing but pure anger

Once she was done, she threw the jacket on the floor which landed at the doorstep.

Shrinkal who was passing by, noticed this and walked into Ruani’s face buried in her palms leaning back on the bed.

He dashed to her and settled beside her, “Ruani, baccha what's wrong? Why are you like this?” Curling her arm around him, she rested head on lap and sobbed silently.
