Chapter 19: Mana Stone
I sleep through the night with a feeling of anticipation of a story I'm about to hear. I woke up squinting my eyes against the blazing light of the sun slipping through the large window of my room. I rubbed the sleep in my eyes before I get up from the bed. Inayos ko ang sarili sa salamin. I looked well-rested. Napatingin ako sa pintuan nang may kumatok doon.
"Your Highness are you up?" a voice of a lady.
"Yes, Come in." I replied. The door slowly creaks open. It reveals two ladies in white uniform. They're the servant back in the palace.
"His highness sends us here to help you, your highness." One of them spoke, the lady in a deep brown eye. Her black hair was up in a clean bun. The other one is braided; her hair was the color of sunset. Her eyes were the color of grass.
"I'm Rosa, and she's Faye." The black-haired lady muttered.
I just nodded my head and continue to grab my clothes inside my luggage. I haven't pack out my things last night since I was swallowed by my tiredness it leads me to sleep. "Let us arrange this for you, your highness." Yumuko sila sa harap ko para tulungan ako sa pagkuha ng mga damit ko. "Oh, thank you." I mumbled as I stood up to head my way to the bathroom. Sumunod sa akin si Faye. I turned to her and smiled.
"I can manage it myself." I said before I walk inside the bathroom. I washed myself up while marveling to the things I'm supposed to do today. I don't know how to approach the priest later regarding of what he told me last night. It took me ten minutes to finish. I cover myself with a white piece of linen before I got out. Rosa and Faye help me with my dress.
"Thank you." I muttered after they finish brushing my hair.
"We're honored to be of help to you, your highness." They bowed before me. I nodded before silently making my way to the door to head in the library. We're told that our teacher will be there for our special classes. The temple is the most sacred place in the kingdom. It is well guarded by a barrier. Most of the rare items and significant materials that bear a surge of energy are stored and keep here to be protected.
It kind of makes me worry why they decided to bring us here this early though. We still have a year before we finish our allotted studies in the Academy to have these special classes inside the temple. That supposedly happen after our commencement ceremony. Although, at first, I thought it would just be a week visit to learn something on regards to our studies. But I didn't expect that we'll be awakening the power that has been unconscious for a long time.
Napatigil ako sa paglakad nang biglang tumunog ang kampana ng templo. I don't know what it means but I saw other people wearing white robes, heads covered with white veil, walking in line towards the hall that leads to the altar. I was about to follow suit to satisfy my curiosity when hands grab my left arm.
"Where are you going to?" It was Solene. She's wearing a dark shade long purple sleeves dress with a criss-cross ribbon on her chest along with her black kirtle. A very contrast to my pale blue dress. "Miss Patterdale has been waiting in the library." She gave me a look before she let go of my hand and started walking. Sumunod ako sakanya.
The large hall of the library is well-lit by the curtains put aside on the corner for the light of the sun to come through. Lanterns were also lit in the corner. Miss Patterdale was sitting at the center of a long table. She put down her quill and stood up. She's wearing a cream collared neck cuff sleeve gown that tightly hugged her, a black bow tie in her collared neck with an emerald brooch clasp on it. Her brown hair was shoulder length. She's wearing a gold-rimmed eyeglasses, with her green eyes peeking through to us.
