Jason's Pov,
Some Days Later,
Walking through Winterfell I can't stop the small smile from forming on my face, she grew up here, she lived here being here I don't know it makes me feel closer to her. I never felt really close to my mother because I didn't know anything about her ,not her name, not how she looked like, but now I know she was Alysanna Stark the oldest child of Rickard Stark and this was her home.Seeing two soldiers start to shove at each other it pulls me out of my happy thoughts as I turn in their direction. "Hey enough both of you!" I loudly say as I walk over to them before pulling them apart.
"Look around you, you bloody fools we are here together for now!" I say as I look between the two men who are still shooting daggers at each other. " Edwin!" I say and soon he starts to run over to me while I take a step back from the two soldiers.
"These two will clean the stables and also the horseshit outside, every time an insult is being thrown to the other or they attack is a extra day. Understood?" I say to Edwin who gives me a nod. "Yes, my lord."
"I don't take order-" The Stark soldier starts but I am quick to cut him off. "This time you will, you will both clean the horseshit. You can listen to me or I can get Lady Sansa she will tell you the same and maybe add to it. Now go." I say as I point away and he mumbles something under his breath before walking away with the other soldier and Edwin.
"Tension will only continue to grow, this is even worst than when we joined up with these people." Tormund says and I nod my head as we start to walk again. "Why did you pass the wall with so many or better yet why did you fight." I state as I turn my head briefly to look at him.
"Jon Snow he knew the dangers behind the wall, foolish man but he got us out and let us pass the wall it cost him his life." He says and now I come to a stop.
"Dangers behind the wall?" I ask him as he also comes to a stop. "The dead are marchin-" He starts before I just start to laugh. "The dead? The dead are dead Tormund. Better to leave them where they are, dead." I say with some laughter but he shakes his head.
"They are marching, we fought with Jon Snow's sister so that when her or her sibling become boss here they can get an army to fight. First it started off small some people would dissapear, after some time we would see them again only now eyes piercing blue, they do not feel pain, they will kill eveyrthing in their path." He speaks and I shake my head before patting his shoulder."Even if what you say is true and I've seen many weird things already but dead is dead Tormund, and there's still one big ass wall standing between us and them than." I say as I start to walk away from him again.
The dead? The dead are dead and that's that before my father starts to haunt me. If Jon Snow let them cross the wall that was up to him, these people can become a part of Westeros or they can go back. They fought with Sansa probably for what Jon did for them and if she believes in these dead that aren't dead that's up to her. Sure I've seen some things I never thought I would see like me, dragons, a giant but dead people that aren't dead is a whole other thing!
"Just when you thought you've heard it all."
.......................................
"Why are you here Rhaegal and not with your mother?" I ask the dragon as I let my hand move over the green scales on his snout, I would have though he would have gone back to Meereen already but yet here he is.
"Or better yet why did you let me you know? I'm not a Targaryen." I softly say while a pur like sound leaves him as he leans into my touch. "Sometimes I think I've seen and heard it all you know? Sometimes I think the worst has already happen and yet every time I'm surprised again by what then comes our way." I begin as I sit on the ground with my back against him.
"War, war and more war will it ever stop you think? Sometimes I miss the days that I could just go into the woods close by the Rock and just spend hours upon hours there hunting or just looking at nature. When me and my father would spend time together, he would teach me things and I would listen like every word that he said was worth millions, now it feels like a different life like a different person was there doing those things. I feel even more alone than I did when I didn't know about he-" I continue before it get's cut off by the two loud howls making a sign leave my lips. Waiting until is stops after a minute or so I just look into the darkness as me and Rhaegal sit outside of Winterfell and the camp.
"When the battle is fought, she will come for her young. That woman said the wolf her young was taken from her many years ago and that after the battle she would come for it, that she was even cursed or something. She sounds lonely don't you think?" I say before looking at Rhaegal who moves to wrap his neck and head around me as I am now just completely circled by the dragon.
"To be alone in this world. *scoffs* Daenerys is alone, Sansa is alone, I am alone I thought my family would always understand me and now I don't even think I understand myself anymore Rhaegal. Cersei will never bend the knee, so I will have to go to war against my sister, brother and their child. I'm not the only one who has to deal with shit but sometimes I just don't know what's right and wrong anymore." I breathe out as I lean back into the dragon and letting my eyes move up to the dark sky as stars fill it.
"Do you think I'm doing the right thing? As if you could answer me, at least I'm happy your here Rhaegal now I'm a little les alone, even if you don't say a word back your a terrible partner for conversations." I say before ending it with a chuckle as I feel the dragon lift his head up and look at me unfazed.
"So far you haven't said one word back like I share all this stuff with you and your just silent." I say playfully making him push me slightly over with his head and it only fuels my laughter before he wraps himself around me again.
"You're not that bad Rhaegal." I mumble as I close my eyes and wait for sleep to take over me I don't think I'll be getting out with how Rhaegal is wrapped around me and the cold isn't that bad.The Next Morning.
Releasing a groan as I turn on my side I feel something heavy lean down on my body making me slowly blink my eyes open to have the only thing I see at this moment are green scales. "Your heavy asshole." I mumble but Rhaegal does not move one tiny inch."Rhaegal come on I need to get up." I say as I start lifting his body off of mine with some groans as he is playing dead at this moment! Climbing over his body he soon lifts his head up in the air but he does it so quick that i fly off of him and land in the mud before I hear that howl again.
"T-thanks." I groan out as I roll on my back and close my eyes as they aren't used to the bright sunlight right now. Hearing a chuckle I turn my head in that direction only to see Edwin trying to hold his laughter at bay but he's failing right now."You think it's funny when your lord get's throw into the air by a dragon?" I state as I look at him and he is quick to shake his head while still trying not to laugh. "I'm sorry my lord." He says as I slowly push my body off of the ground while Rhaegal takes flight, first thing in the morning and I get thrown into the air by a dragon what a way to properly wake up!
"It must have looked quite funny, right?" I say as I walk over to him and he shyly nods his head, after all this time he's still shy from time to time, not like how it was at the beginning but it's still there.
"You don't see a man being thrown of a dragon everyday my lord or ride him for that matter do you think... it means something?" He asks me as his eyes form over the large form of Rhaegal.
"No? Maybe it's because of Daenerys that she send him here it makes the most sense, right?" I say and he shrugs his shoulders. "Maybe but either way it takes a lot of courage to climb on a dragon, for a second I thought it was going to burn you on sight. The Lannister's and Targaryen's never wed right? So it's not like you hold the blood to be a dragon rider, my lord." He speaks and he is right never has my house wed a Targaryen same with the Starks so it's not like I carry the blood of old Valyria in me right? right."Well than let's never try again before he does burn me."
