Part 65

Maekar's Pov, 

Walking back towards the camp as I hold the lifeless body of Jaime I can't stop the tears that run down my face. I am not the only one who feels grief this day, fathers, brothers, sons will never return home again..... we won but that did not come without a price. 

Having to bite the inside of my cheek to not completely break down as I see Tyrion stand there with some others soon he starts to run over to me. Before his eyes move over the lifeless body of Jaime. 

"No...." 

"I-I h-he saved me I-I didn't know he was there ot t-that the spear was coming..... it's all my fault." I sob out as I can't stop the tears and try to find a reason to explain this...... to make this right can I make this right? Can I make him come back like the others have? Will they stay or will they go now since the battle is won? 

"It's not your fault Jason....... Jaime fought for what he believed was worth fighting and dying for." Tyrion says with sadness and I don't even know what to say.... what to do at this moment anymore. 

"D-dad!" Sansa yells with shock on her face as she sees Ned and many of the others walk into the camp and I start to walk away from the scene as I hold the body of my brother in my arms.

Pulling my knees towards my chest as I overlook the what sounds to be cheering camp while the dragons surround it I release a sigh. 

"Maekar Targaryen." A voice says and I turn my head to the side to see the remaining Harpy's, Hippogriffs, Sphinxes and other mythical creatures. "Your all going home." I simply say as I get up from the snow coverd ground and one they nod their heads. 

"Our time has been long over................ we fought just like you for your people, for your children and their children, for Good. Now the Night King and his threat are gone, we will go home again away from many human eyes." One of the harpy's speaks and I now nod my head. 

"Stay safe..... and thank you." 

"No thank you." One of the Sphinxes says before they all start to fly away while I see the Sea dragons move down into the water again in the lake as I can't stop the small smile from growing on my face. 

"You know you left a very worried sister behind or in your case wife." I hear the voice of Viserys says and it makes me turn around to see him and Rhaegar standing there. "I know." I softly say as I know Dany is probably losing her mind right now. 

"Can I bring him back?" I ask them as that question has been going on in my head for hours upon hours. "No, I am sorry. Your magic is strong but when the sun hit's its highest point we will also be gone again." Rhaegar says and I slowly nod my head.

"You know we fight so hard for this....... and yet we are only here for some years." He now speaks as they walk to stand either side of me. "Death is forever." 

"Depressing but oke." I mumble and he releases a breathless chuckle. "That means that all of us are also there forever..... think of it this way Jaime's eyes have closed in this world and openend in another...... one where one day you will also be and that is forever." He says and I turn to look at him with a small frown. 

"So he'll be there? " 

"We will all be there..... it's peaceful here I always had this..... this voice in my head that whispered things, how I was king, how I should give everything to get the Iron Throne. I became a bitter angry man and when I died that voice disappeared and i felt like me again?" Viserys says and I give him a small nod.
