"What now."

Verity looked at Chris as he parked the car slanted in his driveway after the 20 minutes the had argued.

"I'm not even your girlfriend! Why do you care so mu-" Chris turned to her, his eyes a burnt red color.

"Verity. Do I have to say it again? I'm still in love with you."

Those words hit Verity harder than they did the first time.

"Chris, I know but, why did you break up with me if you still love me?" Verity felt herself tearing up.

This was the very last conversation she wanted, but June Verity was desperate for his answer.

"You seemed so much.. happier without me." Chris fiddled with his finger nails as Veritys face drained of blood.

"...what?" She looked at Chris, a tear trailing down her face as he looked back at her.

"I didn't want to hurt you, people said you deserved better." Chris sniffled softly, shrugging his shoulders.

"You've loved me all this time?.. And your not kidding? Cause if you are I swear t-"

"Ver, I'm not kidding. I've loved you all this time, you hated me so much after the breakup so I played along. It hurt me me much but you neede- deserved better. I just... wasnt better?"

Verity didn't know what to do, her mouth slightly opened. She struggled to realise what was happening right now.

"Wait, so." Verity took a deep breath. "Um, okay uh. Listen Chris, I don-"

"Its okay if you don't feel the same way, it just couldn't stay hidden for lo-"

Verity draped herself over the gear stick, putting a hand on Chris's neck before kissing him gently.

He didnt pull away, instead leaning towards her. Chris's hand cupped her waist.

The touch Verity had been craving for months.

They both suddenly pulled after they heard a car pulling up at the sidewalk, Nick, Matt and Nate all looking at them in shock through the windshield.

"That's lowkey creepy, also we should probably tell them." Chris looked at Verity

Verity spoke up, "Tell them what?"

Chris tilted his head, "I mean, were still both in love right? Were back together.. right?"

Verity looked at Chris as his smile faded before hitting his shoulder lightly and grinning.

"Of course we are," She kissed his lips again softly.

Nick shouted from the sidewalk, "Okay so is someone gonna tell us if we're hallucinating or not?!"

Everyone laughed at Nicks comment before Chris and Verity got out of the van.

Matt smiled softly at Chris, looking somewhat proud of his brother.

"Guys, I think you know the talk we had."

Everyone chuckled softly, Nate still seemed somewhat jealous of Chris but he felt good to see his bestfriend finally happy.

As everyone chattered when they walked in, Meitha and Harry both ran towards them.

"WAITWAIT!!" Meitha shouted, catching her breath as he and Harry caught up.

"Nick called us, telling us you guys drove away after Nate kissed Verity and all that, WHAT HAPP- wait."

Meitha realised Chris had his arm wrapped around Veritys waist.

"Is she drunk or .. HOLY SHIT YOU HAD THE TALK?" Harry exclaimed, causing everyone to laugh again.

3 hours later

Verity and Chris snuck upstairs after everyone was downstairs.

They used the excuse of "being tired" to get away and have time to themselves.

As Chris shut the door, Verity had already popped herself into his closet and grabbed one of his tops so she could get changed out of that dress she had on

"To be honest, the dress was cute." Chris smirked as Verity rolled her eyes playfully.

Once she put on the top, she joined Chris in his bed, immediately coming close to him.

"I missed this." Chris spoke quietly as the moonlight shown through the window.

"Chris?" Verity said in a whisper as his hand snaked to her waist.

"Mhhm?"

"I don't want anyone but you okay? You better not pull the same shit one day." Verity giggled as Chris kissed her neck softly, groaning in agreement.

"I promise i won't, okay?" He smiled against her as she buried her head in the crook of his neck.

"I love you Verity."

"I love you too Chris."
