She's really drunk. I thought she had been the first night we met, but that wasn't anything compared to this.  I should have never let her go out without me. I should have went with them and maybe all of this wouldn't have happened. As I walk into my bedroom carrying Sage, I look down at her peaceful face. I'm glad she's finally sleeping. If she would have kept talking, I don't know if I could have held back. I want her and she makes it so hard to resist.

I gentle lay her down in the bed and cover her up. As I grab the cover, her hand catches my wrist. Looking back at her, blue eyes stare back. Blue eyes full of want and need. I shake my head and try to stay strong.

"Don't go, Chase. I want you."

I smirk at her. I know she's not going to remember any of this in the morning. "I know you do, hurricane. I'm coming." I reassure her. " Close your eyes and I'll be in bed soon."

She doesn't argue and does what I say. That's a first.

I won't sleep in bed with her but I'll stay in the room. She may get sick and need me or she may  throw up and choke. Grabbing some extra pillows off my bed, I make a spot on the floor next to her. I'll stay right here and make sure nothing will happen.

My brain will not turn off. I have so many thoughts racing through it. What did her boss mean? Why did she work for a jerk like him anyway? Was she really fired? Lastly, I need to find her home so she can have all the stars in the sky.

I had a feeling that she wasn't from the city. Actually, I had a feeling that she wasn't from the state. She has the smallest bit of a southern accent that only comes out if she's really excited. I've only heard it a few times. My favorite was at the spring. I would do anything to hear it again.

Earlier this week, I told Sage that a background check needed to be run to have on file for my records. She seemed a little hesitate but agreed. I haven't gotten it back yet. Hopefully when I do, that will give me some answers.

One phrase she said keeps flashing in by head. "Totally fuckable." I know she didn't mean to say it out loud. She had been mumbling and talking to herself but I definitely made that out. A smile forms on my lips. At least we're on the same page. Maybe if we do it just once, I'll get it out of my system and then we can move on. I think that over but sleep eventually wins as I'm pulled into the darkness.

Sage's screams wake me up again. I was hoping it was just a one night occurrence due to the break in.

"Don't hurt me. Please."

Once again, she's thrashing through the sheets. I hop up from the floor to grab her. I slide in beside her and bring her to me.

She lets out a bloodcurdling scream. "Nooooooo!"

I can't take this any more.

"Wake up Sage. You're having a nightmare." I shake her in hopes that I can pull her from this dream.

Suddenly her eyes are wide open. Her breath is short as her whole face pales. She covers her mouth as she fights her way off the bed and runs towards the bathroom. I follow after her and make it to her just in time for her to puke. I pull her hair back in hopes that she didn't already get it in her hair.

She gages a few more times and wipes her mouth on the back of her arm. Her head is resting on the seat. Letting go of her hair, I reach out to caress her face.

"You good, baby girl?" She nods. "Want to tell me what these dreams are about. I want to help you."

She starts shaking her head and the fear from a second ago is back in her eyes. "You can't help, Chase. I don't want to talk about it."
