I woke up the next morning, and as rested as I felt, I panicked when I realized what time it was. I really needed to stop sleeping so late. It's like a pattern that slowly gets worse. I wake up late, but manage to get to class on time. Then I wake up even later and just barely squeeze in with a second to spare. Lastly, what is happening right now. I am waking up the second class has begun.

I quickly tried to tame my mess of morning hair, brush my teeth, and get dressed. Fifteen minutes, record time, if only I wasn't still late. I ran down the hallway as I finally reached the classroom, my adrenaline was so high I didn't think to slow down and enter the room in a relaxed fashion. No, why would I do that?

Instead I pushed the door open and came stumbling into the room as I hyperventilated from my run. Everyone stared at me in amusement, but Slughorn was not very pleased.

"Well miss Potter, thank you for joining us, and for making such an entrance. Just for that, I'll only give you detention for a week." Damn it. "Oh no that's right, another week for academic fraud, in which you will be joining Mr Malfoy." Damn it damn it damn it. "Now have a seat and take in what you can."

I shamefully walked over to my seat as Malfoy was laughing under his breath.

"I don't know why you're laughing. You have detention too." I said plainly as I took my seat.

"Maybe, but at least I didn't practically fall on my face coming in." He laughed. The kind of laugh I had never seen except for one time in my life. The laugh that made butterflies fly through my stomach, or made moths eat my intestines. I couldn't tell the difference right now, which is exactly why I had to close myself off.

"Well I'm glad you enjoyed the show, but I need to pay attention. I'm a bit behind if you haven't noticed." I said opening up my book and looking forward, angling my body away from him so he knew I wasn't open to talking.

I sat through the rest of my classes, Malfoy was in some of them, but we were only forced to sit by each other in potions. There was a few times I thought we exchanged glances, but there was no way.

At the end of the day I went back to Slughorn's room for my detention. When I walked inside Malfoy was already sat at a table stacked high with textbooks.

"Miss Potter, today you both will be stamping these new textbooks I've just brought in. Maybe you can study some as you go." He remarked at me. Rude. "I'll be in my office, you will have an hour."

Slughorn shut his office door and I was left alone with Malfoy. I want to say it's funny how life works, but it's actually not. It is very very cruel how life works. The one thing I want is to be as far away from Draco Malfoy as I can possibly get, and yet things like this keep happening to me. I can only assume he is thinking the same thing.

"All right then, you hand me books and I'll stamp them. Sound like a system?" He said looking over at me. I nodded my head and sat down next to him, and we fell into sync doing just that.

"How did Slughorn find out anyways?" I asked Malfoy.

"We were the only two with perfect scores, suspicious since we were right next to each other." Malfoy said, still maintaining our system as he talked.

"Great." I sighed, and we kept on in silence until he broke it.

"Why do you dislike being around me so much?" He asked, and I was completely stumped.

"Perhaps because you're rude. Not as rude to me as others, but you torment my brother." I started, let's just say I had a very long list.

"Yes I do, and yet I know that's not the reason." He kept on, and I was internally begging him to drop it. "I know I'm infuriating Daphne, I do it on purpose, but that's not why you dislike me."
