There is something missing from our world... the amazing animals that time has left behind. But what if we could bring them back?, what if extinction didn't have to be forever?... we're going back in time on a safari with a difference, as wildlife adventurer Nigel Marven, plunges into prehistory to rescue creatures on the brink of extinction. His plan is to bring them back to the safety of the present, and give them a second chance. This time, Nigel goes back 1,000,000 BC and 11,000 BC to prehistoric South America, in order to rescue a ten foot tall killer bird and the legendary Saber Tooth cat, Smilodon. Welcome to the ultimate wildlife sanctuary... welcome to Prehistoric Park.
The day started as a peaceful day in Prehistoric Park, before Bob has to deal with the herd of Titanosaurs that broke out of their enclosure again. Bob: "Man... should have known that noun of the fences I make wouldn't be able to hold these giants, at least they're not meat eaters or aggressive like the T-Rex pair." elsewhere in the park, Nigel was in the Savannah part of the park when he arrived to a new enclosure that was for a new resident, a Cheetah. Along with saving extinct animals, Prehistoric Park's goal is to rescue endangered animals too, like the Cheetah for example. It was not long before Alan and Ellie came up Nigel, who was petting the Cheetah on the head. Nigel: "Man we were lucky to rescue this girl from the Black Market, and I believe she'll have a mate soon." Ellie: "Yeah, with some hope, we might be able to breed the pair." Nigel: "The idea of breeding these big cats has giving me an idea on what to bring back next." Alan: "Which is..." Nigel: "The two top predators of South America during the time of mammals, the famous Smilodon, and Phorusrhacos." Alan: "You mean the Saber Tooth cat and the ten foot tall killer bird?" Nigel: "That's right." Ellie: "You're kidding..." Nigel: "I'm not, and if I'm lucky, I might be able to bring a breeding pair of the Smilodon, and might be able to breed an extinct cat." suddenly, they saw the herd of Titanosaurs coming to the area they were in, along with Bob chasing them. Bob: "Come back here you overgrown iguanas!" this made the group to laugh until Bob glares at them, mostly to Nigel though. Bob: "You had to bring them here with the Microraptor, didn't you?" Nigel: "I told you Bob, they were trying to escape just as much as we were, besides I think it might be better if we let them roam free around the park, that way they have lots of room to walk around." Bob: "But what if they escape from the park?" Alan: "We won't have to worry about that, let's not forget that the park is surrounded by mountains on the north and an ocean at the south, so the sauropods won't have anywhere else to go but around the park." Bob: "Well that's some good news, but what if they break into the other enclosures?" Nigel: "We'll worry about that later, right now I need to get ready for my next mission." Bob: "Which is..." Alan: "Smilodon and Phorusrhacos." Ellie: "The Saber Tooth cat and a ten foot tall killer bird." Bob: "Oh my word... as if my job wasn't dangerous enough..." said Bob with a groan in his voice. Soon, Nigel and Alan were in their jeep while Blue followed them on foot, as they went to the holding pens and the time portal was opened and sends them to South America, 1,000,000 BC. Once they got there though, they find themselves in the middle of a large herd of mammals running away from the jeep and Blue. Nigel: "Whoa!, I know that I've seen them before, I just can't place them." Alan: "But they seem to be plant eaters as there's one eating the grass." Nigel: "And there's some more in that large pond over there." said Nigel, before he stopped the jeep and uses his binoculars to take a good look at the creatures. Alan: "So what are they?" Nigel: "I'm pretty sure these are Toxodon, they're most likely prey animals for large predators like Smilodon or Phorusrhacos." suddenly, Blue let out some screeches to alert the humans that danger was coming. Turns out a male Toxodon was getting ready to charge at the jeep, so Nigel starts it up again and the Toxodon begins chasing them and the raptor. The large mammal continued to chase them until it finally gave up and the jeep and raptor kept on going. Nigel: "Whoa!, if the plant eaters are this friendly, wonder what the predators be like..." a few moments later, the humans stopped the jeep as they finally saw one of the top predators of prehistoric South America, the Smilodon, which just pounced on a lone Toxodon and killed it with it's saber teeth. It was not long before more Smilodon showed up and started eating the dead animal. Once the Smilodon had their fill, they left the scene, and it was not long before the remains of the dead animal attracted South America's other top predator, the Terror bird. Nigel: "What a magnificent creature..." said Nigel in awe as he continues to use his binoculars to look at the killer bird. Suddenly, a lone male Smilodon with one of his saber teeth broken appeared, and scared away the terror bird from the meat. Alan: "How are we gonna get the terror bird to the time portal?" Nigel: "Maybe Blue can help with that, if that Smilodon can scare it, maybe Blue can do the same." Alan: "Well... it might be worth a try." so Alan sends Blue to the spot where the terror bird was and starts chasing it towards the time portal that Nigel set up. It was not long before the terror bird was put into the holding pens and Bob was amazed on how big it was. Bob: "I know you said that it would ten feet tall, but I thought you were just exaggerating." Nigel: "I know, he's really incredible." Alan: "He's like what you say a raptor, but more bird like." Bob: "I guess that you're mission is done then." Nigel: "Hardly, we only got one of the targets, now we need the Smilodon to bring back." Bob: "Oh yeah..." Nigel: "And this time, we'll go back around 11,000 BC, the time when the Smilodon were on the brink of extinction." Alan: "And we'll be bringing a big cat expert with us." Bob: "Who?" Nigel: "Are you familiar with Saba Douglas Hamilton?" Bob: "Why yes, I hope she knows what she's getting into, cause something tells me that those Smilodon in that time will be more dangerous when they're really hungry." Alan: "Yeah, no doubt about that." so with that, Nigel, Alan, Blue, and Saba Douglas Hamilton (played by herself), went to the time portal and went back to prehistoric South America, only this time in 11,000 BC. Once they got through, they see that there were no Terror birds, no Toxodon, or any large prey for the Smilodon to feed on. This was one of the reasons why the Smilodon went extinct, once their prey died out from over hunting or the climate change, they were on their last legs as well. Saba: "So far, nothing." Alan: "Yeah... with no large prey to feed on, they don't have much of a chance to survive." Nigel: "Yeah, I saw some deer of some species all around, but noun of which would be good for the Smilodon to feed on as they would be too small to satisfy it's hunger or too fast to catch." suddenly, they see a male Smilodon glaring at the them, ready to pounce on them. Fortunately, Blue was ready to fight back and rammed the big cat away from the jeep. Saba used a tranquillizer gun to put the male Smilodon to sleep, and it took a few minutes before it took effect. Once they put the male Smilodon into the jeep, they were now beginning their search for a female Smilodon, in hopes to get a breeding pair for Prehistoric Park. It was not too long before they found a female, but it was sad sight as there was a cub there, but it was dead due to starvation. It was not long before Saba used the tranquillizer gun again and puts the female to sleep. Soon the team takes the big cats through the portal and went back to the park. A few weeks later, Suzanne was watching the two Smilodon in a separated breeding enclosure, seeing that they were on their way to recovery. Suzanne: "I hope we'll be able to get them together without trying to kill each other, and with luck we be able to get out first cubs." elsewhere in the park, the Ornithomimus mother has finally got her eggs to hatched and out came 12 new babies. Alan: "They look like little ducklings." Nigel: "But once they get older, they'll look more like their mom." Bob: "It's amazing, our first baby Dinosaurs..." Nigel: "So how are Terrence and Matilda?" Bob: "Well... I managed to complete the dividing wall in their enclosure, but unless Matilda finally calms down, things are gonna get really dangerous here." Nigel: "Yeah, I know."
Next time: Nigel travels back further than he has ever gone before, to a time when giant creepy crawlies ruled the world, Suzanne will play cupid to the Smilodon, while trying to save the life of poor Terrence, all next time in Prehistoric Park.
Animals rescued: Cheetah: 1 male, 1 female/ Phorusrhacos: 1 male/ Smilodon: 1 male, 1 female.
New babies: Ornithomimus: 6 males, 6 females.
