There is something missing from our world... the amazing animals that time has left behind. But what if we could bring them back?, what if extinction didn't have to be forever?... we're going back in time on a safari with a difference, as wildlife adventurer Nigel Marven, plunges into prehistory to rescue creatures on the brink of extinction. His plan is to bring them back to the safety of the present, and give them a second chance. This time, Nigel travel back to prehistoric Texas, 75,000,000 BC, in order to rescue a prehistoric crocodile/Alligator that was so huge, that it hunted Dinosaurs. Welcome to the ultimate wildlife sanctuary... welcome to Prehistoric Park.
It was another big day for Prehistoric Park, for Ellie has come back with some new modern residence, a group of Neil crocodiles. It was not long before the crocodiles went into the water of their new enclosure, and Bob named one of them Henry. Bob: "We were lucky enough to save these guys from some smugglers, who should be in jail by now." Ellie: "No kidding, if we didn't get to these guys in time, who knows what would have happened to them." said Ellie, before she got startled by the sight of Nigel, who along with other park keepers, showed up with what looked like a skull of a very large crocodile or alligator. Bob: "What the heck is that?!" Nigel: "This here is the skull of a Deinosuchus, a prehistoric crocodile or alligator that was large enough to hunt Dinosaurs, and it's the perfect candidate to rescue as a way to celebrate the arrival of our crocodiles here." Bob: "Uh... are you sure that's a good idea?, I mean a crocodile or alligator big enough to hunt dinosaurs?" Nigel: "Don't worry Bob, we just need to build it's close to the portal in order to transport it without too much problem." Bob: "It's not getting it here part I'm worried about, I mean the part on how to handle something like it, we got enough problems with the T-Rex pair and some of the other animals, and now you're planning to bring back a creature that's not only a super predator on the water, but one that's big enough to eat Dinosaurs?" Ellie: "Better let it go Bob, once Nigel sets his mind on what animal to bring back to the park, there's no talking him out of it." Nigel: "That's right, and if it makes you feel any better, I would only bring one back, and no other large predator." Bob: "Well... alright, just try not to get killed while you're at it." Nigel: "I'll do my best." to catch a live Deinosuchus, Nigel would have to go back to prehistoric Texas, 75,000,000 BC. In that time, North America was split into three large islands by a large inland sea, the perfect place to find the super crocodile/ alligator. It was not long before Nigel, Alan and Blue went to the holding pens before going through the portal and ending up to their destination. Once they got there, they began their search, and it was not long before they spotted some life. They see not one but two Dinosaurs that were plant eaters, with long crests on their heads and had duck billed mouths. They also seem to be able to walk on four or run on two legs. Nigel: "There's no doubt about it, it's a pair of Parasaurolophus, a member of the Hadrosaur family, which were a common group in the late Cretaceous." Alan: "And I believe that they are herd animals, so why are those two all alone?" Nigel: "Maybe they got separated from their herd by a predator attack and now trying to look for them." and it seems that Nigel was right, as the Parasaurolophus pair started running again when two more Dinosaurs appeared, which looked like the T-Rex pair in Prehistoric Park, but with gold colored scales. Alan: "Looks like they're not out of danger yet." Nigel: "No, looks like Albertosaurus, which is an early ancestor of the T-Rex." Alan: "And it looks like they're coming this way!" said Alan, before he, along with Nigel and Blue, went into the bushes in order to hide themselves from the approaching Albertosaurus. Once the two predators left, the rescue team finally came out of hiding. Nigel: "That was close, and even though I would like an Albertosaurus in Prehistoric Park, I promised Bob that I won't bring back any other large predators besides the Deinosuchus." Alan: "I don't think the park could handle another Tyrannosaur right now anyway." back in the present, Suzanne was keeping her hands full due to the park's extinct mammals, the Smilodon, and Martha the Woolly Mammoth. For the Smilodon, they finally got cups, a male and a female, who are seeing Suzanne as their second mother figure. As for Martha, she's having trouble being a full fledged member of the Elephant herd due to being different and was not allowed to play with the baby Elephant. Suzanne: "While I'm that the Smilodon cubs are doing okay, I'm worried about Martha, if the Elephant herd won't let her stay with them, she'll be all alone again and would stop eating again..." said Suzanne, while looking at the sad Mammoth. Back in prehistoric Texas, Nigel, Alan and Blue, were on a small boat to travel through a river to find the home of their target. Soon they found a fresh water lake, which had a group of Deinosuchus on one side, and a herd of Parasaurolophus on the other. Alan: "There's one thing that's been bothering me... the fossils of Parasaurolophus were never found here, the same would go for the Albertosaurus." Nigel: "You're right, but then again we only found not too many fossils of certain Dinosaurs or other creatures, so there's no telling what other creatures we'll find here." that was when they saw a lone juvenile Parasaurolophus drinking the water from the lake, before a Deinosuchus burst out of the water and dragged the young Dinosaur away and killing it, before more Deinosuchus joined in the feast. The sight of what just happened scared the herd, making them run away from the scene, in hopes to avoid the large predators in the water. Nigel: "Oh man... the sight of that made me scared." Alan: "You're not the only one..." Nigel: "Yeah, and this got me wondering how are we gonna get one of those monsters without ended up inside it..." Alan: "We could set up a trap." Nigel: "That could work, but the trick is what kind of trap would be the best for it..." it was not long before they managed to get an idea of a trap, and started building a stockade which gradually becomes thinner in order to trap and have nowhere else to go but the portal they set up. They placed some meat in the trap in order to lure one, however, when night came, the meat caught the attention of another predator. The mystery predator looked like Blue, but a bit smaller, and there was more than one. Nigel: "I think these are Troodon, they might look like raptors, but they're not, but they're just as smart." the Troodon were hissing at the group, before Blue hissed back and the Troodon pack were scared of her as she was bigger and meaner looking than they were. They were forced to retreat, but not before taking a lot of the bait, which made it too small to attract a Deinosuchus now. Alan: "First Parasaurolophus, then Albertosaurus, and now Troodon?, something is off here..." Nigel: "We'll figure that out later, right now we need to get some sleep, we'll need it for the big day tomorrow." said Nigel, before he and the others went to sleep. When morning came, Blue was looking for something to eat when she saw something odd, a campsite that wasn't made by the humans she hangs out with. She went back to her team and letting out some raptor yelps to wake them up. Nigel: "What's wrong Blue?" Alan: "Did something happen?" Blue let out another raptor yelp before leading the human pair to the mysterious campsite. Alan: "What in the world?, who's camp is this, as we didn't made it... and we're the only humans here..." Nigel: "Or maybe not, and this proves it." Alan: "But who?, and how?, we're the only ones with the technology to time travel." Nigel: "Well whoever they were, they're gone now." while still puzzled about who were the people that made that camp, they need to focus on their mission to rescue a Deinosuchus from extinction. Blue decided to have a drink from the lake's water, before stopping as she remembered what happened to the last Dinosaur that drank the water. Suddenly, a female Deinosuchus burst out of the water and starts chasing Blue right into the stockade. Blue managed to get through the posts of the stockade while the Deinosuchus was trapped inside. Nigel: "Well done Blue!" Alan: "Are you okay girl?" asked Alan, before the raptor let out a chirp, letting him know that she was okay. It was not long before Nigel sets up the time portal, tied up some rope to the front posts of the stockade and puts the other end on the back of his jeep, in hopes that when they get removed, the Deinosuchus will have no where else to go but to the present day. Little did they knew that a Troodon sneaked into the jeep to eat what was left of the old bait. Once they were ready, they went into the portal, with the Deinosuchus following them. Bob: "Look at the size of that!" called out Bob, shocked by the size of the giant reptile. It was not long before Nigel and his team lures the Deinosuchus into her enclosure as Bob build it close to the holding pens. Nigel: "Oh... what a relief... we did it." with the Deinosuchus in her pond, Bob was now able to focus to look after the other residence of the park. He takes the jeep to make it faster, unaware that the stowaway Troodon was still in there. Bob: "Boy... the park has collected a lot of interesting creatures... and some of them can be a hand full, like the T-Rex pair, the Terror Bird keeps getting out of his cage with those sand baths of his... and not to mention the Titanosaurs..." suddenly, the Troodon popped out, spooking the living daylights out of Bob, causing him to drive out of control, spooking the nearby Titanosaurs. Once Bob managed to stop the jeep, he sees the Troodon running off to who knows where, and one of the Titanosaurs running off scared. Bob: "Oh no... this is not gonna end well." and it seems that Bob was right, the panic Sauropod broke through the fences of some of the enclosures, which were the Ornithomimus, Elasmotherium, Phorusrhacos, including Matilda's. Now they were loose and chaos erupted. Nigel: "Bob, what happened?" Bob: "Oh I don't know, maybe you could have warned me that you brought back another raptor in the jeep!" Alan: "Another raptor?... was it smaller than Blue?" Bob: "Yes." Nigel: "That's a Troodon, it must have stowed itself away in the jeep to get what was left of the old bait." Bob: "You mean you didn't brought it here on purpose?" Alan: "You think we would bring back a creature similar to Blue without having tranquillized or at least had restrained?" Bob: "Good point." that was when Suzanne came up to them. Suzanne: "Guys!, Matilda's heading for the Elephants!" Nigel: "I'll try getting there as quick as possible." said Nigel, as he takes the jeep to drove himself to stop the female T-Rex. At the Elephant enclosure, Matilda has driven the baby Elephant away from every member of the herd, except for one... Martha the Mammoth, who stands up to the T-Rex in order to protect the baby. That was when Nigel came and used the jeep's horn to catch Matilda's attention, which seems to work as she was now chasing him in his jeep. Nigel: "I feel like I'm in some kind of movie right now!" exclaimed Nigel, as Matilda lets out a mighty roar while chasing the jeep right to the Deinosuchus enclosure. The T-Rex was just about to take a bite on the jeep, when the Deinosuchus burst out of the water and scares Matilda, allowing Nigel to be a few steps ahead of her. It was not long before Nigel arrives to the holding pens, and managed to catch Matilda inside. Nigel: "That should do it." said Nigel, who sighed in relief as Matilda was now contained. With some time, the park keepers started working on repairing the enclosures and putting the animals back where they belong, and once Bob captures the stowaway Troodon, things were finally back under control. Bob: "Gotcha little Rascal." said Bob, as he gave the Troodon the name Rascal. As for Martha, thanks to her heroics, the Elephant herd now fully accepts her and was now allowed to play with the baby Elephant, who's life she saved from the female T-Rex. But Alan still can't get the thought of the unknown campsite out of his head. Alan: "Nigel... I think we should make a call with Mr Hammond, he must know about what we found in prehistoric Texas." Nigel: "Yeah I think you're right..." little did they know, was that someone was hiding in the shadows, who seems to be up to something.
Next time: Nigel travels to Isla Nublar, which would be his most important rescue ever, and discovers some secrets about Blue's origin, and has to escape from the island's erupting volcano, all next time in Prehistoric Park.
Animals rescued: Nile Crocodiles: 5 males, 5 females/ Deinosuchus: 1 female/ Troodon: 1 male.
