Friend's Wedding

You say you want to stay friends.
But how cruel would it be for me to stay around, fall more in love with you,
help you get better,
just to see you find eyes for another girl.
A future me wearing a silk red dress,
sitting on your side of chairs,
meeting your mom for the first time not just in photos.
I'll cry tears,
but not of joy like you will,
and I'll watch you watch her.
She'll get your full attention,
brilliant blue eyes,
face facing her-
and I'll settle for your side profile.
How strange it is to have a different prospective when I used to only see you in the perspective she sees you in now.
