manik is so silly, he begins to laugh walking ahead of me, I swear this man is never ever going to act serious in any situations
"Manik" I scold
"That was epic" he laughs
"He is your team player"
"Oh I don't give a shit, half these hoes can barely play and no one disrespects you Nandini so if you didn't sop I would've done something"
"Refrain from it, you are the captain of the team"
"Whatever"
"Go pack" I say when he drives me back home
"No"
"Manik"
"Bye bye" he waves like a kid
"Bye manik" I wave back
He waits for me to go inside like always and then drives away.
I showered and was laying in bed before I had to go over to manik's to help him pack for his game. He was leaving to Delhi for a week, he had two games and then depending on how the team would do, they would either have to stay the full week or not
I know they play way too well, the team's coordination is so well and the bond between the players has gotten better even understanding the cues and everything
My phone rings and manik's sleepy picture pops up, this one day him and I were studying and he fell a sleep which is when I took this picture
"Hello Mr malhotra how may I help you?"
"Firefly" his deep breath echos in my ear
"Yeah?"
"Do me a favor"
"Depends on the favour"
"Come over please, I am ver confused"
i laugh hearing him, it was hilarious how he is
"Don't laugh Nandini"
"Give me 20 minutes"
"no just come down, im waiting down here"
I don't even get a chance to reply because he cuts the call, I make my way downstairs and find him sitting in his car in a black t shirt so I knew he changed when he got home
"Thank goodness, I thought id grow old just sitting here" he taunts
"Shut up you fool"
"beautiful you mean" I laugh hearing him
We get to his house and I help him pack and by helping him, I meant doing it. He only packed his basketball clothes and boxers but the rest I did while he paced around trying to find his shoes and other things he needs
"Ready?"I. Ask him
"Yeah" he mumbles
He grabs the bag, throwing it over his right shoulder, his phone in his sweats pockets.
"I want you to listen very carefully" he says
"Umm hmm" I hum standing in front of him
I often forget how tall he is, I genuinely look tiny, small in front of him.
he slips his hands against my cheeks holding my face in his hands. I look up at him not knowing how to react or what to say to me. His cold fingers curl behind my neck sending shivers down my spine
"I need you to be very very careful the next week. I will be busy but that doesn't mean I won't text or call you. You cannot walk outside at 2 in the morning"
"okay that happened once"
It did happen once, I was really agitated with soha because she was really pissing me off, she had a party that was still in full swing at 2 so I went out for a walk but manik called and he heard the quietness I suppose
"It doesn't matter, please just don't go out so late for the next week, when im here you do whatever you want to"
"Okay' I agree
"And do not let that girl affect you at all, she is stupid and you are way above her so no fights with her or anyone"
"Hmm"
"And do not skip any meals oh and call and text me all the time"
"Umm hmm now go and win it all" I say
He smiles leaning closer, his lips meet my forehead and little fireworks burst in my stomach making me feel giddy
"Bye little firefly" he whispers
"Bye manik" I whisper back
He waves at me before cabir and him left.
Im not sure why but a part of me felt like I wanted to burst out crying but I wasn't able to tell why I felt that way or why.
"Feeling okay?" Navya asks
"yeah, mhm are you staying here?" I ask her
"Yeah and so are you, there is no point of going home, soha has parties planned so lets go grab our clothes and we can stay here"
I wanted to say no but right as I was about to, my phone rings displaying manik's picture
"Yes captain?"
"Stay over" he says
I look at navya but she giggles so I know she told him
"Manik"
"Sunshine just stay over please"
His words melt me and I agree
"Okay, have a safe flight"
"I will give you a call when I land"
"Sounds good" I say cutting the call
We get to our house and grab a little bag going back to manik and Cabir's house. Navya went to lay down but I remembered that I forgot my charger at home so I walk back to the house
As soon as I enter the house, smoke and alcohol reaches my nose and instantly I am coughing. I hate both and I see my room door opened, instantly I am pissed
I march up to my room and find a guy, one of soha's friend I am assuming laying in my bed
"Dude get the fuck out" I say
he looks at me and smiles
"OUT" I scream
he smirks getting up, I scout past him and heard the door lock so I knew he left, I dug though my drawers and found my book and charger, but as soon as I turned around I jump slightly
"Hey" the same guy who I thought left utters
"I told you to fuck off"
"And I want to fuck you" he says
"YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE" I scream charring at him
Lets just say that was not a good thing because I though he was high enough that I would get him but I failed when he throws me on the floor, when I tell you the wind literally was knocked out of me, I mean I couldn't breath
He slapped me and grabbed my face
"Let me go" I fight kicking at him
"such a bitch" he says shoving my head on the side of my bed,
"Ahhhh" I scream when the metal frame of my bed scrapes my forehead
When I pull back, blood gushes down my face. Seeing the blood this fucker runs
"Shit" he mumbled opening the door and rushing out
I got up and walked out of the house going to manik and Cabir's house
