Alvin and Ryker were already worn out. It was the third time visiting the treacherous enchanted forest yet they couldn't navigate through the trees. It seemed as if the forest changed itself everyday. Finally, they made their way to a clearing, where they found the tree they had been searching for. The tree seemed to be the life of the forest as the grass nearest to the tree almost sparkled  with life.

Cleo, as if driven by a trance, had gone all the way to the tree. As soon as she touched it's trunk, the tree answered, " I am the tree of life. I know the path each one traverses and how the fates entangle. Nothing can be hidden from me, neither what you seek, nor the answer to it. But to balance life, there must be death and so , something of equal value must be surrendered to obtain what you want."

Alvin and Ryker were now by Cleo' s side, they were all wondering what to surrender to the tree to get their answers. Cleo, decided to ask the tree itself what it wanted. The tree replied, " The fates are guiding you to your destiny. The path which you have chosen leads to me. Since it is the play of the fates, you have already given your sacrifice by surrendering the other choice you had. Ask away, for the answer you seek will be given to you."

Cleo, though puzzled by the tree's words, did not forget what she came for. In a determined voice she asked, "What is the answer to the Mystery of the lost children of Mystic Mint Ville?"

The tree replied, " Strong and bearded, both in the real world and stories, knows your answers to all your mysteries."

The trio walked out of the forest in deep thought of who could be behind it all.
