A smile appeared on the face of the cold beauty sitti...
I shut my eyes when the rays of sunshine fell on my face.
" I want to sleep!", I groaned.
Come on! They really should let kids sleep. Its an orphanage for God's sake, not a prison!
Clang! Clang! The beating drums of the messenger aroused me again.
The Gods really don't want to let me sleep.
What happened? I wondered.
The voice of the messenger rung out loud and clear " A reputed magician from Alabama is here to perform a magic show. He is one of the finest masters of this art."
All the sleep vanished from my eyes when I heard those words.
"A magic show. Finally!" I said to myself.
I would get to see a magic show for the first time in my life!
Nothing much happened in this town. Even the Sun had gotten bored of watching us go about the same routine everyday. Now, the magic show would bring the much needed excitement to spice up my monotonous life!
I heard an excited knock on the door and I didn't even need to guess who it would be. My friends Alvin and Ryker showed up, panting due to the run they had made for my room.
Alvin
As soon as I heard about the magic show, I immediately thought of Cleo. She would be so happy to hear about this. She always loved magic and we finally would get a chance to witness a magic show! Gatherings took place rarely in Mystic Mint Ville and the whole town was in an uproar since the announcement.
I was walking towards Cleo's room, when I was joined by Ryker.
"You heard the news?" I asked. "Of course I did!" he said equally excited, and together we made our way to Cleo's room.
Cleo
"Did you hear the messenger. He sai---?" , both of them asked together.
"I want to attend the show." I said.
"Wow! So the sleepy head heard the message huh?" commented Alvin.
"Its magic we're talking about. I would hear the message even in my dreams!" I said.
"Yeah as if you have never been reminding us of it ever since we met. Are you a magician? Because I haven't met anyone else who is so crazy about magic." Alvin said.
But there was one question in my mind....
"How will we afford the tickets?", Alvin asked.
Yes, exactly that. We wouldn't be able to collect money for the three of us in such a short time....and that too the whole town wanted to see the magic show!
This did not faze Ryker, he always got to know things from the grapevine. He said ," I heard that 5 lucky people can attend the show for free. But we must hurry or we may miss the chance."
Wow! I guess we would really get to see the magic show! Afterall, our luck was with us!
"Then we need to make all the plans to sneak out. The warden won't allow us to go anywhere other than school. And God knows how she finds out every time we try. She will obviously keep a strict eye on us so, we need to plan well" I said.
Alvin and Ryker nodded and we started to plan our escape.

Cleo , Alvin and Ryker were excited as they began to prepare for the journey which passed through the forest. There was only one such forest and it's beauty was said to be unmistakable. It drew people in and after sunset, there was no trace of them later.
It was prohibited to pass the forest during that time.
